Billups Cook Pierce Frye Gallinari Curry Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce headline a field of six in this year’s Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night. Reigning champion Daequan Cook of the Miami Heat returns in an attempt to become the sixth player to capture consecutive titles. Rounding out the field are T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam invitees Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Danilo Gallinari of the New York Knicks, and the Phoenix Suns’ Channing Frye. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64495/20100205/billups_pierce_headline_three_point_contest/#
why is pierce in this? he never struck me as a big time 3pt shooter and with his foot problems should he even be participating in the all-star weekend? would have liked to have seen Brooks asked to participate in this
Here's some percentages, just so y'all are aware: Billups 41.5% (88) Cook 30% (27) Pierce 46.7% (77) Frye 43.8% (119) Gallinari 40.3% (126) Curry 42.9% (78) You can see pretty obviously why Paul Pierce is contending. Cook is there only because he won it last year. Gallinari is there because of his volume this season. I'm going with Chauncey anyway, numbers be damned.
