Even the record is eerily similar. As is the direction of the team. Where they know they can't tank but also know that they have no upward mobility. Really bring back old memories where the biggest dispute on clutchfans was whether we can replace Kevin Martin with Monta Ellis. Man those were some low expectation years.
Hayes has been awesome, by the way. He pretty much took Pau Gasol and Al Jefferson out of gamew for them, when no one else on their team could slow them down at all.
They have more upward mobility, IMO. They have a couple promising youngsters, picks, cap space. They aren't as old, either. Their core is Lowry, Demar, Amir, Valanciunas, Ross. Lowry at 27 is the old guy. Amir is 26. The other three are 21-24.
If it would've been the Rockets in that situation, Terrence Jones passes it out to Howard at the 3point line who calls a timeout with 1.3 seconds to go. Then on the inbound out of the timeout, no one gets open so Patrick Beverley has to grab it in the back court where he airballs a half court shot.
Yep, that's the reality. They would have been the 9th team if they were in the west, just like we were.
Not even close. If the Rudy trade happened in the off season, Raptors would have the same W-L with Rockets if not better. They started from 6-12 to get to where they are now.
