I’m surprised it wasn’t Arrighetti they got sent back to SL. Either way, suck for France that he couldn’t go to Mexico for few days until Framber activate on Sunday.

If Javier’s injury is healed he is eligible to come off the IL on 4/28. If that’s the case Arrighetti could come out of the pen in Mexico before being optioned when Javier returns, in which case it would make sense to send France down. I imagine a AAA rotation of France, Arrighetti, Blubaugh, Henley, and Gusto would be a nice fivesome of insurance compared to what they started the season with.

The 6-man rotation will soon be Verlander, Framber, Javier, Brown, Blanco, and Arrighetti. The Astros are at a cross-roads with their pitcher development. It's apparent that high velocity and high spin on every pitch leads to shitty results. Brown and Arrighetti can't control their pitches inside or outside the zone. Really only Verlander is able to pair the two together, but he's 41 and needs 5 days to recover. I think we are starting to see the course correction because of all the injuries. The goal should be controling pitches in the zone, if it means throwing 93 instead of 96, so be it, hitting a 93-mph fastball well located is still the hardest thing to do in sports.

True, France hasn't been in Mexico for a long time.

True but we all know there’s 0 chance that they would send Hunter down.

Amyone know why MLB allowing Astros/Rockies to add 1 position player instead of pitcher for Mexico City Series? Doesn’t make sense when pitching is needed.

One silver lining is that this all but guarantees we don't overpay Bregman. However, with Bagwell at the helm, he might just "feel" it's the right thing to do.

I’m half worried the slump convinces both sides to meet up on a shorter term deal that still could cripple the franchise.

That's the exact quote you'd like and expect a player to say to the media.

If he'd said the opposite yall would be crucifying for that, too.

The Astros forum is sounding every day more like those 2011-13 rebuild years.
The tone around here has gone retro for sure.

On that note, here are a couple popular images from back in those days.
