That "game" was absolutely pathetic. It was a glorified shoot around. Yhe players didn't want to be there (Edwards admitted he wasn't trying), the fans didn't care at all during the entire weekend. They need to scrap everything and start over.

LOWEST ratings and viewership (by a strong margin actually) in over 2 decades

I would rather watch pickup games down the road, they're more interesting

Like I said, I don't really think all star games in any major sport are salvageable.

But, lol, the cursory changes that Silver & Dumars had this year:

No draft, Shorter intros, shorter halftime, east v west, no Elam ending (ironically the only sign of life in the ASG recently was the 1st year of the elam ending)

That's the literal minimum you can do - maybe even less than the minimum.

Adam Silver is a smart guy - I can't believe he ever thought this had an even 10% chance of working on making the game more competitive. I assume it's just some posturing for appearance sake

    Give me the keys commissioner.

This is easy. The most riveting part of the all star weekend the last few years has been

Steph vs Sabrina and Kevin Hart vs Draymond in the 3 point contest.

    Pure entertainment.

Next year we will probably see Steph vs Caitlyn Clark which will be fantastic.

    Dunk Contest.

    NBA vs World.

Put the NBA guys in it, team score vs the likes of Jordan Kilagon and the rest of the top dunkers.

Nothing new or exciting about whatever we saw on Saturday. Time for some fresh blood outside the NBA.

....and this is why I take a break like these idiots participating in the ASG weekend.

I just want to get back to Rockets basketball and not see these clowns.

I didn't watch a second of the entire weekend, except for a couple of clips of failed dunks and one made one by the winner which somehow appeared on my timeline.

Sengun's defense would have saved the all-star game.

    probably deserves its own thread

The NBA could have one of its stars seduce Taylor Swift and have her show up at the games to support him.

The NBA would probably mess it up and have a star seduce Sexy Red.

Sports imitate life. We don’t value the things we used to anymore.

I bet the kids love the all-star game now.

How about losers get one game suspension without pay? Winners get the one game pay from the losers.

Whoever refuses to participate gets an automatic suspension.

Folks, it's not the all stars themselves, it's the concept of all star games that doesn't make sense anymore.

Back in the old days, most games weren't even televised, and then gradually only your local team, so the concept of seeing whatever NBA all star at all and conversely for that star actually being on national TV was a relatively big deal, especially compared to available screen based entertainment options, which consisted of like "Little House on the Prairie" and "Gilligan's Island" reruns.

Now, you carry around the ability to see every basketball play ever made in history and that will ever be made in real time in your pocket everywhere you go!

An exhibition game has no need to exist when the thing on exhibit is on exhibit to anyone on earth with bandwidth 24/7

because one person there has to play overseas during the offseason to build generational wealth.

it’s about hunger and NBA players are fat and happy
