I'm not sure of the minimum salary, ($750,000) but if he makes the team, it doesn't seem too bad. But if he is on the practice squad, it would be. It's the guarantees for UDFAs that seem different this year. I guess the kiddies are used to being PAID now.
15th round draft pick which would be a UDFA today. I think I have a new player to root for. Maybe we could create a special set of all "white shoes" for our returners.
I'm not as bullish on his tape as others. Doesnt have the 2nd level tackle breaking & missability as much as I'd like. Bit north & south, no frills. But it can be why he's available. Or part of the devaluing of RB's when productive volume runners dont e even get drafted. He's decisive & sudden at 1st level. Which can be the whole point in the ZB scheme, the 1-cut & go approach. I see some upfield pass catching ability at least, not a zero in passing game. He can be the third back & maybe more.
https://theathletic.com/4499221/2023/05/09/nfl-draft-2023-undrafted-free-agents/ One undrafted prospect to watch on each roster Houston Texans: Ali Gaye, edge, LSU Born in Gambia, Gaye moved to the U.S. in 2011 at age 12 and — having played soccer all his youth in West Africa — didn’t find football until the eighth grade. Gaye (6-6, 263 pounds) was a late qualifier who had a long path to LSU, but he also comes with 34 1/4-inch arms. He makes for a helluva story and brings a great work ethic.
I think teams wanted to see more of Gaye's measureables (TWSS), but it looks like he has the tools (giggity) to be a pretty good pass rusher.
