LOL... have the same challenge now that my wife's brother and sister-in-law are visiting (to add to the trump chorus of my wife's mom and step dad). My sister-in-law even once said it wasn't trump to not have submitted his tax return, but rather Obama. So you can imagine how the rest of the conversations go...
Well good for her, thanks to Trump, she's about to have a lot less of it to keep now, and will be forking over a lot more in the future. Remember whose name is on that check and on the bill!
Most people want instant gratification and blow things up if they don't get it. You see it w/ trumpers dictating Republican ideology too. I dunno if it's an ego thing, but I'm pretty sure "that guy" will feel even better being able to complain how everyone else is dumb/wrong while everyone suffers. We all got our own coping mechanisms to make us feel in control...
Typical Trumpateers response to people ignoring and protesting a measure to try and stop Coronavirus spreading. Who cares about health and safety precautions, right?
These are not grass roots organizations. If it was a conservative governor with the same policies they wouldn’t be protesting.
I've brought this up before that some of the most vocal Trump supporters I know will talk about how great Trump is doing for the economy yet personally talk about how much they are struggling. This was before the latest crisis.
The neighboring state of Ohio has a Conservative Republican Governor. Dewine still took early steps to fight the disease and if I remember went into lockdown earlier than MI. I wonder if there's been a protest in Columbus?
I think there are two types of Trump supporters. 1. The ones who financially benefit from him 2. Idiots I know that sounds harsh but if you aren't benefiting from Trump in the pocketbook, then you are supporting him out of ignorance. Maybe it's because your god told you to support him. Maybe you are a racist and your hate for minorities dominate your self interests. Maybe you are just angry and hate the world, and Trump is the man who will destroy that world you hate so much, and make you feel empowered. Regardless, it's all the same thing.
I see a lot of obesity and likely hypertension in that crowd of Trump supporters, which is gonna suck if they get sick from this as that demographic appears to be at a higher risk than a healthier individual. Again as loyal as Trump's base is, if he told them to practice social distancing, they and we would all be a lot safer.
He told them to do it for about 4 weeks, now we have to open the economy back up or the cure is worst than the disease.
