From Ken's article this morning: Brewers are possibly looking to trade Grandal. Reason why trades haven't been made so far is the price to make a move. Sellers are pricing themselves way too high. Astros have backed off of the Thor talks because the Mets want Tucker. Astros want to hold onto Tucker because of 2021.
Saw that. Think the brewers need arms ready to go so I have no idea what we have that would interest them, but if they want to start the bidding at Framber Valdez and Brady Rodgers or something like that (along with, of course, stassi) I’m fine with that. But seriously I don’t see anyone who Grandal makes sense for (he’s a rental so he’d have to go to a contender) who has major league arms lying around that they don’t need.
Absolutely. But what could we possibly give the Brewers that they’d want to help them compete this year? We are in the market for more arms ourselves. That’s what the premise of the Ken R article was about that they’d be trading him as a MLB guy to get ready for more competing this year. I’m stumped. Doesn’t make sense to me.
More likely version...Astros had guys that underperformed early and fans freaked out. Astros guys performing closer to what was expected in July.
Jeff Luhnow is all about value. He’s not going to overpay regardless of what other teams do. I’m shocked that so many on this board are so desperate and acting like Luhnow needs to trade Tucker for a #3 with 1 year left. That’s not going to happen nor should it. Tucker isn’t getting traded unless it’s a good deal for Houston. I am confident Houston will add a starting pitcher and a reliever, and probably a catcher as well. It’s all good.
If true that Luhnow doesn’t want to trade Tucker for Syndergaard, who would he trade Tucker for at this trade deadline? Bauer? Kluber?
Problem isn't who Luhnow would trade Tucker for, it is who Luhnow would trade Tucker for and other team would except.
Luhnow is a mad genius. Whatever he does will be great for the team. He traded Josh Fields for Yordan Alvarez. Lol
I love Luhnow. In the aggregate trading hasn’t been his strong suit though. Yes we fleeced the dodgers but he’s had plenty of meh trades and one that kind of hurt.
