I'll say... this thread was great and glad i got to chance to be a part of this. Thanks to a lot of you posting countless rumor tweets and @Snake Diggit trades. I hope like hell we have another thread to chat a lot about come November 2nd.
It's a shame that they just stood pat, didn't make a major move or anything. It'll all be ok, we're fine in the playoffs. Stupid Luhnow.
What were the corresponding roster moves? Pressly to DL Sanchez to pen, Stassi gone Maldonado in, Greinke and Biagini in and which two out?
Pressly already had a corresponding move, they called up Bryan Abreu who pitched last night. I suspect he goes back down.
BTW, do yourselves a favor and head back to page 112 of this thread - the calm just before the storm as the deadline ends and fans are coming to grips with the Astros not making a big movie... It's fun. And I mean it - no judgement. Every one is seemingly at peace with NO IDEA what's about to happen.... then BOOM!
I found that to be the highlight of the day - other than trading for THE pitcher. Even live on MLB, it was the very same sentiment. They were confused on why not one of the top teams made a deal and why there was so much value in keeping prospects. Then BOOM!
Perhaps the other clubs were lured into thinking we were staying put. Jeff timed his move so there would be no time for other teams to react. Not saying this is how it happened. But there is a certain logic to it.
Since there is no longer an August trading deadline, can Luhnow (and/or Morey) go hunker down on Kirby for a few weeks?!
