Rondon and Smith in... Harris and Straw out Astros add pitchers Hector Rondon and Joe Smith to ALCS roster, drop OF Myles Straw and reliever Will Harris http://es.pn/app
Not surprising. I understand why people want Straw but outside of running for either McCann or Maldanado, no one else on the roster needs a pinch runner. If we're pinch running for either of them, it will be late in the game when Marisnick would come in. Kemp will fill that role, too, only with a better bat. Still surprised Peacock wasn't one of the pitchers added. I'm not as down on Rondon as many of you guys are. I've just not been overly impressed with Smith and would rather have another long/power arm in Peacock.
Astros keep finding new ways to dominate By using analytics to help make their players better, as they did with Gerrit Cole, the defending World Series champs are better than ever.
I suspect Peacock's non-rostering is due to his ineffectiveness vs LHH this season. Sox have four in its lineup.
Yes, but the MLB office has to investigate and approve it (i.e. you can't do it the day of the game), pitcher for pitcher or player for player, and the replaced guy cannot play in the next series. http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/109921/full-primer-on-playoff-roster-eligibility
