Dekker reminds me of Horry too. Horry was a better shooter and Dekker is a little more athletic and versatile. Horry was an athletic freak too. Horry blocking Starks in the Finals was the cover shot for EA Sports NBA Live 95.
Actually Horry was not a very good shooter his first and second year in the league. He shot 25 and 32 percent from the 3 point line which were all wide open and catch and shoot. Horry was a very good defender(one of the best in the league when he was motivated) and the best post feeder to ever play the game.
I was referring to Horry's shooting in the totality of his career. He was a big beneficiary of the 3 point line moving in. Right now, Dekker isn't a great shooter. I'm sure he'll improve. Horry* superb defender, passer, teammate, and was big time clutch. If Dekker can be anywhere close to that, he'll be a keeper. *Why the heck does my autocorrect change Horry to Sorry? Frustrating!
Seems like he is getting over the hump he is MAXIMUM EFFORTing his way through it Too bad it looks like it is Trez's turn to hit the wall Rocket River
Man I've said it earlier , but if Sam can improve his shot he's gonna be a real player . The shot was the knock on him coming out of college . That begging of the season flash was nice , but no way sustainable . He just needs to get it up to average consistently.
Love the guy but bruh, gotta hit those free throws. I don't need a Dwight flashback every time. I get all shaky.
With all these mentions of players in the past, maybe the real Dekker comparison, if he can improve his shot, is a guy already on this team:
I've never seen Anderson Go for a loose ball, jump as high, finish at the rim in all types of manners behind the head, catch and shoot, etc.. If he develops a shot like Anderson he'd be an AllStar year in and year out. Don't forget those improving handles and being able to drive into the lane. He's amazing and I doubted him for a long time.
He just has so much energy and is incredibly active. He makes Brewer so obsolete but since there's no spark off the bench at the moment, the Rockets had to start Brewer. Dekker is about to be asked to do alot this actual rookie season of his. Morey might even use him as a trade piece as it is which will suck depending on what he nets the Rox.
Love his rebounding. Great nose for the ball. He has 11 games with 7+ rebounds this year Brewer has 10 such games in his Rockets career (& 8 of the them were in 2014-2015)
I think this is the first step in supplanting Brewer . . . . In fact I think this means he has moved up the Depth Chart ahead of Brewer Rocket River Oh Happy Day
