I hope he is. All Jeff Allen has seen in his career = Alex Smith, Brock, Savage, Weeden, Matt Cassel, Brady Quinn, Chase Daniel.
fwiw, Patrick Starr (who observed OTAs) said on his podcast that Watson is farther along in O'Brien's system than Fitz/Mallet/Savage/Brock were this far into their first offseason's with the team
Let's say Watson comes in and does good in his rookie season. Couple that with the national exposure he got from his college days and now you're talking about the Texans possibly becoming "America's Team". Imo Watson is going to be a goldmine for Houston.
I'm pretty sure he said similar things about Brock last year. He laughed at people on twitter who criticized Brock during camp last year.
From everything I've read, Watson is far from starting... He's got way too much to learn and is too far behind Savage at this point to be remotely considered for the starting gig. I wouldn't put much stock in Starr's commentary. Having said that, Watson's work ethic is insane, so it's good that he'll be busting his tail while we see how Savage fairs as the starter.
