I don’t want to be a hater but it feels like the firing clock has started for Deion. It’s one thing to use your reputation and dominate in the SWAC and another thing to go up against the Pac 12 powers. Good luck.
Colorado hasn't been really competitive since they left the Big8, back when everyone was paying players under the table, and their "Promise Keepers" coach was one of the worst of the bunch.
As my Colorado friend put it, "we'll finally get some players with stars by their names". Colorado has been wretched, but once you take out USC and UCLA from the PAC, there's no particular reason they can't be competitive in theory. Deion will bring some much needed excitement and attention to the program. If he fails, they might at least have some baseline level of talent to work with. And with the transfer portal, he might be able to infuse them with players pretty quickly.
CU has had one winning season since 2005 and is coming off one win season. Prime can only take them up really and if you’re gonna do it, the PAC is the place to do it.
If and a big IF Deion is a good coach. I don’t know. I can’t knock his record and back to back conference championships. But again that’s the SWAC. Big jump from HBCU FCS to P5. Three years ago Deion was working as a high school coach.
I guess what I’m saying is we will find out. If Deion is legit then CU will be competitive. If Deion is not then he will be exposed. I agree that CU is already at the bottom.
Man, what a year for Sonny Dykes in his first season at TCU. Playoff bound. Gary Patterson accomplished a ton for TCU football, but it was time for a change. No one expected a season like this, but the last few years the only highlights were beating UT. (Something like 6 of the last 8 matchups under Gary).
Just read that Mike Leach had to be rushed to the hospital today. They are asking for prayers. Have always liked him
In reading tweets about Leach it appears he’s had/has health issues and was looking into retirement. Unfortunately it caught up with him.
