Drew Ferguson is an interesting name to follow. Old for his level but he has hit at every level and has quite a bit of positional versatility (all outfield spots).
Benintendi was college player of the year. That's more than enough to take him over a similarly skilled high school guy.
Among other interesting prospects to possibly keep an eye on.... RHP Enoli Paredes joined Quad Cities today. The Astros signed him for $10K during the 2015-16 international signing period. He was touching 92 when he signed, but BA's report on him said that he was up to 94 with a "hard curveball in the upper-70s" and a "changeup with sink and tail." Since he made his debut at age 20, Paredes obviously had a late start to his career, but the Astros liked him enough to bring him stateside for his first season and he did alright. Here were his numbers in the GCL: 12 appearances (3 starts), 1-3, 3 saves, 3.74 ERA, 33.2 IP, 25 H (0 HR allowed), 18 R (14 ER), 19 BB (5.1 BB/9), 46 K (12.3 K/9), 1.31 WHIP, .207 opponent average

BA also has update on Luis Robert. Looking more likely he will be able to sign this cycle, and also looks like Houston is the only team he has held a private workout with so far (and a note that we can read into: he cancelled/delayed workouts with other teams after he worked out with Houston, saying he had the flu). Still the same 6-7 other teams mentioned as interested, all those already over their pool plus the White Sox.
Daz hit another dinger, his 3rd of the season. Encouraging to see that he can drive the ball, always thought that was his biggest question mark coming out.
Alex Winkelman allowed a hit and struck out 10 for Buies Creek tonight. In his first 14.1 innings this season, he's allowed 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 21.
Quad Cities hit 5 home runs for the second game in a row. For some weird reason, Francis Martes was mistakenly listed as the starter in Fresno until it was corrected. He did not allow 5 runs in the 2nd inning.
Martes or Keegan Yuhl? The MILB box score says Yuhl pitched the first 5 innings followed by Jankowski.
He's now on a 7-game hitting streak and is slashing .270/.341/.486. Plenty of questions about the bat, but it seems to be warming up a bit.
Positive trending no doubt. But again I'd expect a 22 y y/o college guy to hit well in low-A. High level college baseball (e.g. SEC) is probably equivalent to High-A level and the first real test of the better college guys is double A. Wonder how low and slow they'll go on his bat.
20 mile per hour winds blowing out to CF in this game. I know for certain Dawson's was going out no matter what the conditions were. I heard Wrenn's and Cameron's HR were probably good enough too. Hector Perez gave up back to back HRs but at least one was because of the wind. All in all, really good game from him due to the winds early on.
I do see what you're saying. I wasn't trying to dispel the questions surrounding Rogers' offensive potential... just noting that he's had a nice little run with the bat lately.
