Spacemoth alluded to this in the GARM, and it's something i was telling friends yesterday -- both curry and kerr may have really gone overboard calling out the refs and swaying public opinion against them. i mean after game 6 they looked as pathetic as i've seen in this league in a long while. maybe this had a direct effect on the officiating last nite, or maybe the cavs just deserved to win. either way, the basketball gods have restored order and righteousness for us all -)
the ether!!! btw...check out this masterpiece about the Warriors on Deadspin: Spoiler http://deadspin.com/hey-warriors-you-are-choking-****bags-1782281499
One of the greatest teams ever? Who's saying that? They may have been only the 4th best team in the NBA this season. But they have the best player in the world which is often enough to overcome any talent deficiencies.
This is the difference between a real MVP and one fabricated by the media. It's like in Mean Girls when they tried to make "Fetch" happen. ESPN actually succeeded in making Curry as MVP happen, brainwashing voters to make him a unanimous MVP no less. Can you imagine Michael Jordan's balls shrinking like Curry's did in the finals? In this age of social media - the media really does have full control over narratives and incite mob mentalities. Look no further than the hate Harden gets. I hope last night was the beginning of the end of the media making "Curry" happen.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Steph Curry didn't speak directly to LeBron after Game 7. Here's what he would have said: <a href="https://t.co/RIuLt3f4RH">https://t.co/RIuLt3f4RH</a> <a href="https://t.co/MsGHqilQkB">pic.twitter.com/MsGHqilQkB</a></p>— Sports Illustrated (@SInow) <a href="https://twitter.com/SInow/status/744940640975323136">June 20, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Curry was not even the best POINT on his own team let alone top THREE in the finals. Curry has always been an undersized shooting guard to me anyway but all those talking heads thinking he was GOAT at PG was always ludicrous to me.

I agree with you on all points. I will also point out Steve Kerr was doing his typical passive aggressive post game interview with veiled comments to how losing Green in game 5 was the difference, and how injuries killed them etc. For all the media and fan love for the Warriors, there are a lot of organizations and players that dislike them to a large degree.
Yes, Clutch. Preach! "Warrrrrrrrrrrrrriors...Warrrrrrrrrrrrrriors..." 1)Draymond went WWE on Michael Beasley for no GD reason. And that factored into his suspension. I don't care how many millions he donates to his old college now that he is successful: I. Do. Not. Like. The. Man. 2)Every time someone lamented Bogut being out, I cue up the Vine of Bogut trying to pull an Olynyk on Dwight Howard. He was a key ingredient in all the Splash Bro's clean looks at 3s with all his moving / holding screens. 3)Sooooo much trash talk. Bye, Ayesha! Mo Speights, Klay, Dray, Steph Curry...all of them....hubris for daaaaays. 4)Westbrook was straight schooling him...and then Kyrie brought the Kyrie Irving Religious Experience. Curry was 2nd fiddle to both of those PGs and it was crystal clear. This was the Unanimous MVP? He shouldn't have won it last year, and he definitely shouldn't have won it unanimously this year. 5)The bandwagon fans, and even true blue Bay Area fans were the absolute worst. It's like they mirrored off of an amplified the smugness of the Warriors team. Then add onto that the non-stop schlobfest by the national media, especially every single person whose paycheck has ESPN written on it. We got the dumbest, most reaching-est stats 20 times a day about Curry. Curry made more 3s than Jesus made fishes & loaves. If Curry's 3s distances were added up, it would be 40 400ft home runs. The last time someone scored 28 pts with 7 3s and 3 steals on .70% shooting in 29 minutes was in 1974.

Pinning the ball to the backboard is legal...as long as the block occurs prior to the ball hitting the backboard...which is what Lebron did...clear as day. Wilt used to pin balls to the backboard all the time, because it helped him retain the ball after the block. Not to take anything away from Love staying with Curry, but just want to point out that Thompson was also doing that earlier in the 4th and 3rd. Shows how much Curry choked to suddenly not be able to get separation or drive on two different bigs ... like he was unsure what to do and panicking. Or, he must have been injured. Is there a link to this. Kerr has been arrogant for sure.
Agreed! Happy for the city of Cleveland and for LeBron. Great story. Was rooting super hard for the Cavs in this series. More than any other non-Rockets team that I can remember. My distain for Curry and the Warriors certainly was a big factor. I am reveling in their loss. Glorious.
Sit in it, Sherwood! Sherwood, please tell us more about how great Steph's defense is. We are all ears. F' that guy.
