Offense (24) QB (2) Osweiler, Savage HB (4) L Miller, Ervin, Blue, Hunt FB (1) Prosch TE (3) Griffin, CJF, Anderson WR (5) Hopkins, Fuller, B Miller, Strong, Mumphrey OL (9) Brown, Newton, Mancz, Su'a-Filo, Allen, Clark, Adams, Bergstrom, Lamm Tough cuts for Weeden, didn't look impressive enough to justify cutting Hunt who has serious value to the offense & Grimes & Hilliard, (L Miller, Ervin & Hunt) all three have shown they are can do what Grimes brought to the 2015 team but with more quickness and elusiveness & Shorts, Mumphrey surpassed him. Ervin & Hunt have shown they can shift out and be better in the slot. Defense (26) DE (5) Watt, Covington, Dunn, Still, Heath NT (2) Wilfork, Reader OLB (4) Mercilus, Clowney, Simon, Scarlett ILB (4) Cushing, McKinney, Bullough, Peters CB (5) Joseph, Jackson, Johnson, Bouye, James SS (4) Demps, Dillon, Pleasant, Moore FS (2) Hal, A Allen Tough for Cliett but Heath or an extra DB on ST has more value. Could be a potential later round pick for Rick, if he's on the horn. Say what you want about Rick but in year 3 of B O'B this is the most balanced team in Texans history that is capable of dominating on both sides of the ball. Grimes, Shorts, Hilliard, etc could net the Texans several late round picks and/or some substantial cap space for the next few days to upgrade the O-Line
And it begins. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Texans cut rookie outside linebacker Eric Lee, according to a source</p>— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/AaronWilson_NFL/status/771726030272724992">September 2, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Hardest cuts they've ever done. They have a very deep stable of running backs, and honestly the least "talented" one out of the group is a lock to make the team. They are going to cut guys who will get snaps for other teams this year for sure. At LB and DL they have cuts to consider that will also be talented guys.
It is a prime opportunity for Rick to shop bubble players like Hunt and see if he can do a 1 for 1 swap for a lineman (either center or defensive end).
True, player for player trades are very rare and if the Texans are planning on cutting him, if a team offered anything at all it would be a very low draft pick.
Yeah I meant Blue, and yeah he's a lock. The team loves him. He's good at special teams. He's not afraid of running up the middle for 1 yard.

Yeah, I think most years he makes the team, but the WR corps is just ridiculous this year. I'd bet someone picks him up.

Cecil Shorts is almost a lock to get cut unless they do what they did with Keyshawn and keep him on the roster to play chicken with a team wanting him.
