With as many teams that have had to play their backup QBs this season , I'm sure teams will be willing to spend a 3rd round pick.
No way. If this mock draft were accurate, they have us taking Derrick Henry which would be an excellent pick for the Texans.
Don't really see Henry being an elite NFL RB. He doesn't look explosive and he runs upright most of the time. Having the Alabama OL blocking for him inflates his numbers. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JKh2NP_gSBI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/2061188/derrick-henry I don't like how Elliott always runs out of the shotgun, but I see his game transitioning to the NFL better. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3ZSQoJY6VC0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Let's face it, this is a fairly awful QB class. Some QB's will be taken in the top 10, but I'm not sure any QB in this class deserves to be taken that high.
Get the best playmaker on the offensive side of the ball with our first round pick, and then trade up into the back end of the first and get Wentz or Hackenberg. It'll be costly, but these are the two players at the QB position in this draft. Goff will probably be pretty good as well, but he'll probably go between 5-15.
It's going to happen still unfortunately. In probably the greatest defensive draft ever, people took Jake Locker and Ponder.
If you had to pick between DeMarcus Ayers and Cardale Jones to be your QB, which do you pick? After watching Ayers complete a pass today, I think I pick him. At least after he fails he'd be a decent slot receiver.
Next years class doesn't look any better. Put off QB another year and we're back in this same situation, mid to late 1st round pick with a mediocre QB class.
I don't think there's any way Hack goes in the first. More likely Wentz does but I don't even think that would happen at this point (though his stock could rise in the next few months). I wouldn't trade back into the first for them. Maybe you move up in the 2nd if you want Wentz but I think Hack could easily be had in the 2nd while staying put.
Wentz is the guy I want after Goff and Lynch go off the board: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Wentz off his back foot <a href="https://t.co/vIrOSeTurQ">https://t.co/vIrOSeTurQ</a></p>— Patrick Conn (@DraftCowboys) <a href="https://twitter.com/DraftCowboys/status/681662505488220160">December 29, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Carson Wentz showing off his running abilities. <a href="https://t.co/ADQlOyXIMt">https://t.co/ADQlOyXIMt</a></p>— Patrick Conn (@DraftCowboys) <a href="https://twitter.com/DraftCowboys/status/682758470911787010">January 1, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Carson Wentz can move with the ball. That last one is from his first collegiate start. Wentz moves just as good as Lynch does with the ball, but in my opinion is more NFL ready with his arm. He's the guy I want - I've said that many times. If he was playing in D1, he'd be the top QB off the board, no doubt. As I said, Wentz in th first round, of Hackenberg, if you can, in a trade up, or staying put in the second. I think they're both going to rise through the draft process though.
