Not sure who there is that will be good honestly. Why we need better front office and scouting. Maybe the kid from Cal.
That's kind of what sucks. It's still super early, but as of right now, there's not any QB prospects that I'm super high on. Certainly no one I was as high on as Derek Carr.

The QB situation is a clown show. I have never seen a football coach just rotate QBs in and out the way bob does. But hey, we all gotta do better.
The good ones are always the ones that aren't eligible yet. LOL Every now and then you have a generational talent that everyone can agree on, otherwise the internet heroes will run down everyone except the sophomores and freshmen that they can't draft yet. LOL
Junior quarterback Jared Goff is drawing high praise from evaluators after his hot start to the season. He's led Cal to a 5-0 record, and a tough road test awaits him Saturday against fellow unbeaten Utah. Before he takes the national stage in a highly anticipated matchup, I asked five NFL personnel executives to give me the best player comparison for Goff. Here are their answers. Executive 1: Matt Ryan "He's a pure, tall pocket passer. I liked (Sam) Bradford a little better coming out (of college), but he reminds me a lot of Matt Ryan." Executive 2: Matt Ryan "He has a tall, skinny frame and plays with a gunslinger mentality. He's not as reckless as Jay Cutler, but I do see a lot of similarities to Matt Ryan at Boston College." Executive 3: Matt Ryan "Everything that I find out about him background-wise reminds me of Matt Ryan. They're both very accurate passers with good size." Executive 4: Matt Ryan "He reminds me of Matt Ryan, but has much better arm strength. Watch his touchdown throw against Washington. It was a big-time throw." Executive 5: Matt Ryan "This might seem like it's out of left field because they come from totally different offenses, but (Goff) reminds me of Matt Ryan. Ryan was coming out of pro system at Boston College and Goff is in a pure spread system. Because of that, the transition will be a little tougher for Goff. Talent-wise, they're very similar." Verdict: It was unanimous! All five executives picked Matt Ryan. In fact, I heard from two more execs, and both picked Ryan. Conclusion: It's hard to find five, let alone seven, personnel guys that agree on anything, so this is very rare. Goff has really good pocket feel and awareness. He throws a pretty ball. In terms of a comparison, I think he's better than Ryan Tannehill was coming out of Texas A&M, and I think he's better than Alex Smith was coming out of Utah. Goff is a mixture of Matt Ryan and Derek Carr. Goff and Carr are similar athletes when it comes to foot quickness and having a quick release. Goff's body is similar to Matt Ryan's. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000551888/article/ask-5-whats-best-nfl-player-comp-for-cal-qb-jared-goff

Granted, it's been a while since Ryan was in college so hard to remember. But this seems like classic "group think" scouting, even though they aren't all part of the same group. yes, offense has changed a bit in college, and yes, Goff is part of a more offense forward spread type attack, but Goff's college production is light years ahead of Ryan's. Accuracy, yards per attempt, TD/Int ratio, rating... all of it. That doesn't mean a ton, granted. Johnny Manziel was a more prolific college QB than them both. i see higher upside for Goff than Matt Ryan... which is no disrespect to Ryan. If Goff becomes another Ryan, he'd be the best QB the Texans ever had, that's for sure.
Yeah but comparing a QB today to Aikman isn't a good thing. If you are a QB playing at a Troy Aikman level today you are mediocre at best.
Goff is obviously the front runner for now. Paxton Lynch from Memphis is an interesting project. I only caught a little of one of his games but he made some incredible throws.
Good thing is the worst teams so far this year probably wont need QBs Besides maybe SF, Chi, NO, and Cle, Cle invested a first rounded already in a QB less than 2 years ago Chi probably wont draft low enough if Jay Cutler is playing SF hopefully wont take it and still try to make Kaep work NO might play better with Brees back and maybe wont draft low enough Detroit, Philly, Miami, Balt All have 1st round QBs that are either recent or decent, prolly wont give up on them yet even with new regime for Det or Mia KC They might. But wont draft low enough this year with Reid as their coach
Only see SF, Det, Cle, Mia, TB, NO, Jac being a threat to draft higher than us.. they look bad too Tbh, even TB looked better than us and prolly would've won against us if they had a better kicker. We havent look good against any team this year, at all. Only win was an extremely ugly one. Oh, and all of our oppenent beside prolly Atlanta have been mediocre or bad. Got destroyed by a 1-3 KC team. Barely won against the worst team in the NFL last year thanks to their kicker imploding. We strugglw against TB ffs. Colts suck and had a backup dinosaur QB that was on IV and didnt pratice all week. We gona destroyed by them. Dominated all game. SF at least won their first game decisively, and against a potential playoff team. Det, Cle, NO have been competetive in their games. Only real threat of being worst than us are Jac, TB, and Mia. All invested in high 1dt round QBs recently.
