Glad to see City signing proven talent from the Bundesliga. I think their style of play is more beneficial for adapting to the EPL.
Love the Sane signing. Already an upgrade on the right over Navas in terms of finishing and dribbling, and being only 20 there is still room for growth. City are setting themselves up pretty good for the future in terms of young mid and forward talent with Sane, De Bryune, Sterling and Ihenacho all 25 and younger. With the all but done move for Gabriel Jesus added to that fold City's attack under Pep looks promising for the future with the present looking equally as good with most of those guys already being contributors to add to the likes of Aguero, Silva and Gundogan.
I've heard Pep is thinking of playing Navas as a wing back in a 3-5-2 which would be an interesting transition. No doubt Navas is very good with the ball at his feet but just can't finish to save his life.
Damn... Sané would've been a great fit for Bayern with Götze gone. Hope Pep doesn't screw this up, Leroy could be a huge factor for our national team.
Pogba announcement is going to happen when he comes back from holidays. Least that's what I heard. Just a matter of when at this point.
Anyone seen City's new logo? When did the change happen? Here's a pic for those who are unaware. Spoilered for size. Spoiler
They presented the new logo end of last year and it's the official logo from this season on. Good move, this one is basically a slightly altered version of the original logos.
Btw, the Gabriel Jesus signing is now official, he rumoredly had a private phone conversation with Pep for 30+ minutes and was persuaded to join City. This sucks, really wanted to see him at Bayern. This guy will beast through Europe if he develops in the right way under Pep.
A young Ronaldo (Brazilian legend) with a weaker body. He's extremely skilled, quick and able to play the wings, but he shines as a striker and shows his scoring ability and great instincts at a central position. If you're not familar with Brazil's Ronaldo, think of a Neymar that plays more in the box and is focusing on scoring. Have to say he's definitely a lot less polished than Neymar was when coming to Europe though. Still makes a lot of mistakes and I think he'll have to adjust to the physical play in England, so don't expect a star from day one. A good thing is his mentality, always works hard and helping on defense a lot, aggressive when trying to pursue the ball. Gabriel should be a big part of Brazil's Olympics Squad, so keep an eye on their matches (the Neymar+Gabriel+Gabigol trio has a lot of people hyped). Tried to find a game that's indicative of his strengths and weaknesses, the obligatory hype video is below that one. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/G9cZq0h1WSM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Gqemskft0ag" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If he has a weaker body as you say and he does not fill out, soccer players do not fill out like Bball players, then it is likely to say he should stay at the wings.
Pretty sure they will implement a workout routine for him, many new EPL players do this to adapt. He is also effective on the wings, but he would be wasted there because of his shooting touch and his ability to run into the right position to score.
KDB, Sane, Iheanacho, Gabriel Jesus the new attack for the future. Maybe Sterling if he can stop running like a girl.
Apparently they have also looked at Delph as a LB and Fernandinho as a CB. Pep wants versatility in his side for sure. With Delph and Navas getting looks at wing back along with Pep taking a long look at some of our EDS guys at those wing back positions this offseason has to be the reason why we have not targeted a single WB in the window.
