DMo with his first legit good game of the season? Surprised there isn't a parade going on in here. I guess some people are still butt naked watching the highlight video.

 

At this point it's not a surprise when he has a good game when he gets minutes. Also, it wasn't really a good game. Sure he had 8 boards and 13 points in only 19 minutes, but it wasn't a very efficient game given that he took 12 shots to get it.

there is a reason why Ajinka was +20 on same amount of minutes that DMo was a -1. One played in garbage time mainly and the other didn't.

DMo did get a few usual Dante minutes in the 1st because Dante had to start for Cousins, and to close out the half. I especially liked his AND-1 put back off his own blown fast break layup. But, if you watched the game you'd know Denver was down by over 30 pts when DMo was able to do some stat padding in the 4th...just some garbage time layups ... Jokic didn't even play in the 4th.

On the missed layup you can just hear Drexler saying, "You gotta dunk that."

 

Nah I didn't watch it, I don't really watch much of the Pels but 19 minutes couldn't have all been "garbage time" and it's not like we don't know already that he performs when he's given time.....it's not like we're talking about a scrub like TJones.

 

I didn't say "all". I explained it and it's in the video. Half the points and minutes was garbage time. The 1st Q minutes was due to Dante needing to rest, because he started for Cousins, and Ajinca had 19 minutes too was the one in the game when they built the lead.

Plus, the "he performs when he's given time" is such a bogus statement for role players. Everyone says that. It's also that coach won't put you back in, when you are showing no hustle and energy. DMo used to get regular 8 minutes to start the 2nd Q, when AD sat. But he wouldn't hustle, so Gentry would not put him back in.

That's what I mean by if you watch him play you can see the pattern of him not looking fit out there, but the coach gives him some minutes to try him out.

 

Gentry is a godawful coach....so I'm not sure we should be basing anything on his choices. He's almost certainly going to be fired after the season and the Pels will be better off for it.

 

Well, I don't see any Nola fans complaining about Dante Cunningham outplaying DMo and getting more minutes.

 

I'm sure Nola fans are absolutely thrilled about their irrelevant little team.

 

Listen to their announcers, they know he can play.
