Sounds awfully familiar to what was being said each year in Houston. IF Dwight commits to the p'n'r and focuses on lobs and putbacks. I think the time for wishful thinking with Dwight is over.
He's eager to show off his jumper. Gotta work on something that's even less efficient than his post game: http://www.slamonline.com/nba/dwight-howard-jumper/ I'm glad he opted out, to point out the obvious.
has he taken a jumper yet that he's been practicing so hard all summer with? I seriously can't wait to see it
But who will play the tinman role? And who will be his DOF persistent nemesis. (Notice I did not choose the acronym HOF, for a very good reason.) This will probably play out like the Parsons' Mavs thread, where everyone is in agreement basically cheering for failure.
https://theringer.com/dwight-howards-last-stand-5b4347669a1e#.zbh9wn1rj Pretty accurate recap of Dwight's career. I like this part: Shaq really ruined his career.
I don't hate Dwight. I hated parsons for a while, but then he kind of **** on Dallas so I put some respek on his name. Dwight and Houston should be seen as a mutual split. Although I really do think that if one guy per game would say "dude why doesn't your team feed you more in the post?" It could actually work. Anyway I hope we don't boo him or anything he had a lot of love for our city
I agree. However, I think it was an amicable split simply because the Rockets organization is not as gossipy as other organizations. Dwight was ultra messy when he left; talking that hot s#!t on his way out about Harden and Morey. Morey and Harden didn't say a bad word about Dwight despite their names being dragged through the mud on national television every week on Dwight's free agency media tour. Media would even try to bait a reaction from Harden and Morey about Dwight's comments and they would get nothing. Some one should lob him some "you're soft" bombs too for good measure.
I remember that super odd tnt segment where he said some things about not getting fed the ball and maybe about the system not being right for him, but I don't remember anything specific about harden other than Barkley trying to bait him into saying something about him. But other than that I don't know what else has been said. Can you fill me in so its easier for me to deal with it when he inevitably gets booed at the Toyota center
Remember Dwight told everyone that would listen that he went to Morey and asked to be featured more in the offense and was denied. He went on to say that he told Morey that he(Morey) had never played basketball before, so he doesn't know anything (something to that affect). Morey was asked about Dwight's comments and refused to comment about it while saying Dwight was great for the Rockets. He would say Harden had to check his ego. He didn't specifically say Harden, but we knew who he was talking about when he said in nebulous terms, "some of us need to check our egos."
It's really disappointing. He could have had a long productive career in Houston with Harden. If he would have just committed to the pick and roll, he could have played for YEARS and really destroyed his public perception. Running to Atlanta just fuels the fire and certainly solidifies him as a talented guy without mental fortitude. He should have stuck it out in Houston and accomplished his goal, or died trying.
