Let's just give the man some props. Dwight is having a resurgent year. Not Orlando Dwight, not all-star Dwight, but he's earning his paycheck which is quite surprising to be honest.
If Dwight didn't have an ego and would only play to his strengths, and wouldn't mind getting benched in crunch time, he'd be a great player still. But as of now, he's just a good player. Sort of like Boogie to a degree, if Boogie had that Kawhi Leonard mentality and approach to the game, he'd be a top3 player.
Rockets have won 2 of 3 with the only loss to a searing hot Pacers outfit that was undefeated over the same span. I doubt anybody wants to see them in the playoffs. Things are looking up. If we can add a big body like DMo at the deadline we will make a run at .500.
resurgent year? lol i think its just what you get when dwight isn't playing "disinterested". amazing what playing with effort can do for you and your team!
So, all that crap about Howard wanting the ball more and not getting it in Houston...and his FGA and PPG are both slightly down from last season's numbers. LOL. Yea, he's a focal point of Atlanta's offense.
Playoff Dwight showed up against Houston. Clutchfans are hating on him a lot, but he was consistently really good in the playoffs as a Rocket. However, he would not be a good fit in the MDA system.
I've said the Hawks main problem was their backcourt and wings outside of Shroeder and Korver were bricking shots, and Korver regressed along with it. Bazemore and Delaney were shooting around 30% first 2 months of the season. It was similar to whats happening with the Rockets now, all Rox backcourt and wings are bricking 3's, and theyre losing cuz of it. No Dwight didnt carry the Hawks through that, nor is he really a good fit. But he was doing good at his own strengths - rebounding, defending, and finishing with dunks and layups. I believe Coach Bud put the whole team on notice by making everyone available in trades to send a message. Seems to have worked
Capella can't handle Howard defensively. It was like he wasn't even there. Somehow, Clint still managed 11 boards and 22 points. Ariza couldn't hit a threeza. But, what was going on early with Howard...Clint was freaking invisible during that time.
