Cliett is a ST guy who could be developed later on as a pass rusher. Will be good on teams immediately though.
If he even make the team. They brought back all their linebackers but brooks reed and they already drafted McKinney. Making the team as a linebacker even on st will be hard.
The Texans were the only team to even work him out. Fair to assume that he wasn't on any other team's radar. Couldn't they have waited to get him then?
if we're intent on drafting an OL here, as PDStat mentioned, I don't see any reason to draft anyone besides La'el. I mean, what are we expecting to find at this point in the draft? I'd take the risk of losing this pick, give La'el a contract, and say, do you want to play in the NFL or not?
At 216 the Texans take Christian Covington, DT, Rice. At 290 lbs. I'm assuming they're going to try to bounce him to a 3-4 DE.
If he gets on the field defensively it will be as a sub package interior pass rusher. Perfect for that role if his knee checks out. Could roll out Mercilus | Watt | Covington | Clowney
Yeah I wasn't really thinking about where he was getting picked. He'll probably end up a pass rushing third down DT, but there's a market for guys who can get to the QB.
He has been in remission since February but I don't think he'll play this season. I can't find anything on him returning to the team.
Yeah I agree. Its just that people in the Strong thread were saying he could play slot and Texans liked his versatility. But now it looks like we want him outside.
