I haven't seen much video on Ray, but he seems like a one trick pony? Also, according to what Bob McNair said earlier, I doubt he'd draft him after repeat violations, especially with one being so boneheadedly stupid.
I think Shane Ray is assured to never be a Texan, I've said I wouldn't be scared off by a failed drug test for pot, but in the words of a great Houstonian Ron White, " you can't fix stupid". I'd still draft Gregory or DGB ay 16 but not Ray. Here's Peter King's draft: http://mmqb.si.com/2015/04/28/peter-king-2015-nfl-mock-draft/ He had Ray to Houston at 16 but had to adjust at the last minute. He gave us Phillip Dorsett without much conviction. The thing that excites me about his draft is how cheaply we might move up a couple of spots, like from 16 up to NO's 13 spot. By the chart we could trade 16 and 81 to NO for the 13th pick to get Kevin White, Todd Gurley or Devante Parker. Get a #1A wide receiver at 13 the best OLB at 51, Harold, Odighizuwa, Perryman McKinney etc. And i would be thrilled, My 81 targets are Paul Dawson and Devin Funchess so it does hurt a little.
I am not for moving up, because one of the biggest issues for Texans has been quality depth. You would hope they stop botching the middle of the draft, and take solid but boring guys. Going for guys that dropped has hurt them in the past. Almost like they have missed the memo of the glaring red flags. But because the FO has botched so many picks, should not be a reason to trade them for moving a few spots. Keep it Simple Texans and draft the guys without red flags and the middle rounds will be better.
I am a casual football fan and based on what I see every year, if I was drafting in the NFL and I had a team like the Texans, I would prioritize talent over safe picks. If Gurley is available and I believe he will be as good as people say he will in the NFL, I take him regardless of ACL red flag. We need depth and mid round picks are crucial to fill those needs, so we need to nail this draft so that we can be more aggressive next year and trade up for a QB if we can´t sign one. I really want Gurley to be available at 16th, just to see if the texans take him or not, it will tell a lot about our draft strategy going forward.
Gurley played 40% of the offensive snaps in college. That red flag is the size of Texas. Guessing there is a < 10% chance that Gurley rushes 5,000 yards in his NFL career. I would rather take someone boring like Cameron Erving (OC) and see him have a 10+ year career, making the pro bowl half the time.
Gurley all the way it is foolish of everyone to believe Foster will remain healthy for a full season including playoffs. How does your offense look without him??????? Had we made the playoffs last year he would have been injured.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2445655-2015-nfl-draft-matt-millers-final-scouting-notebook In case you missed it, I reported Monday that multiple NFL teams want to draft Dorial Green-Beckham in the first round, but ownership has squashed those plans. In fact, one high-level source of a top-15 team told me this weekend they were flat-out told "no" by ownership about drafting Green-Beckham in the first round.

The thing that scares me about gurley is not so much the acl but the way it happened .. Wasn't hit and just making a routine run,not even a hard cut ... we already have a first pick that blew out a knee in a similar way ..Would hate to end up with back to back injury prone picks <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OKU88lvCm3E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Trading Swearinger might not bring a big yield in return. Texans may get a 5th round pick if they are lucky. But it might be time to part way, even for a 7th round pick
#Texans' Smith said there are always trade discussions going on. On D.J. Swearinger: "He's a really good football player for us." — Brian T. Smith (@ChronBrianSmith) April 28, 2015 Texans, Bengals interested in Green-Beckham? http://t.co/bSO8FOj42u — Rotoworld Football (@Rotoworld_FB) April 28, 2015
We are rumored to be interested along with cincy. But will McNair give the ok? If BOB and smith convince McNair enough to to trust them I think we draft him at 16. He is exactly the weapon we need offensively.
Cincinnati sounds like a more likely option, based solely on the gambles that they have taken on "troubled" players in the past.
