Yeah, He had knee surgery prior to being drafted. Then another knee injury and resulting surgery, as well as an achilles tear. It would be a buy low/high reward type of investment. He's butted heads with Tamp throughout his 4 years there, and has never seemed to be on the right track. I'm not sure if his production is due to him being often injured, or just the lack of drive. It's an interesting case considering how highly touted he was coming out of college. He was a "Top 10" talent, but dropped to the 2nd due to his knee injury. Never lived up to the hype.

I wouldnt necessarily call Bowers a pass rushing interior lineman. If that's what the Texans view as "pass rushing", then Watt will basically never have help beside him.

so...how far does randy gregory fall, and do we take him? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Former Nebraska DE Randy Gregory tested positive for mar1juana at the NFL Combine in February <a href="http://t.co/Pcm3qvsft5">http://t.co/Pcm3qvsft5</a> <a href="http://t.co/oU0RZdQpIX">pic.twitter.com/oU0RZdQpIX</a></p>— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) <a href="https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/580946287203381248">March 26, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
lol... all I can think of is the Sam Montgomery, Cierre Wood, and Willie Jefferson cluster. I don't know what they were smoking... some say mar1juana while they say cigars, but ... I'm not sure Uncle Bob wants to get involved with this.
I actually doubt he will fall as far as #16 but given the Texans lost draft picks due to pot I do not think they would take him even if he did. Here is a longer article with a lot of quotes: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...blame-myself-for-failed-nfl-combine-drug-test I, along with the States of Oregon Colorado and a growing list don't think occasional mar1juana use is much of an issue. Randy Gregory will probably fall to a team in an area where people aren't as worried about is as Texas, SF @ 15 looks like his bottom, though the Cowboys might take him since they are the only team with a staff probation officer. Dallas Cowboys Honored For Helping Reintegrate Criminals Back Into NFL http://www.theonion.com/articles/da...um=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=Pic:2:Default DALLAS—Praising the organization for their refusal to turn their backs on those with a troubled past, the ACLU honored the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday for their ongoing efforts to reintegrate criminals back into the NFL. “We would like to recognize the Dallas Cowboys for their long history of providing an avenue to ex-convicts who are simply seeking a second chance at life as a professional football player,” said ACLU spokesman Carl Holmes, adding that, for over three decades, the team has helped those facing the stigma and legal constraints of a recent felony conviction find paying work as linebackers, offensive linemen, and wide receivers. “Too often, these men have been abandoned by society and left with nowhere to turn, but Jerry Jones and his organization have shown they are willing to take the lead and be that beacon of hope for them. The Cowboys have never been afraid to help those with a criminal history move on from their past mistakes and get back onto the field, and that is truly something special.” Holmes added that, without a group like the Cowboys, it is likely that many of the convicted felons would tragically end up either back in prison, dead, or on the Oakland Raiders.
I would say it’s less about the mar1juana and more about decision making. If players were told not to partake in something as harmless as eating apples for the 30 days prior to the combine because it could affect their draft position negatively and end up costing them thousands (if not millions) of dollars, yet several players ended up testing positive for apple consumption, you and I would both think those players were idiots and there is something wrong with them. So why we try to make excuses for players who test positive for mar1juana is beyond me. It may ultimately be harmless, but it shows the inability to control impulses and make good decisions.
Are all their friends eating apples? Is the music they listen to all made by people that eat apples? glorifying apple eating? Do apples lessen anxieties? chronic pains? Your peer groups set your norms and influence your choices. A young black man is going to have a different set of choices. Look at his history in the cited article above, he didn't come straight though a national program integrated in with a class and coaches. I'm not totally excusing it or saying it was "smart", I'm just saying smoking some pot in college probably does not influence the level of play you will see from a 25 man in the NFL. Desire and drive withing the game are probably more predictive given the athletic skill. (Looking at you Nix)
Justin Houston also failed a drug test at the combine too, right? I think if Gregory falls to us, I would be ecstatic to get him
