Quality lineup. i expect some adjustments. i also expect some roster turnover. but i think this year will see a lot more consistency than we have seen in a long time.

Latest renderings of new baseball spring training complex

Aerial view from Haverhill Road looking at the stadium’s main entrance on the west side. Pedestrian pathways on both sides of the stadium run uninterrupted from the Astros practice fields on the north to the Nationals practice fields on the south. Architects tried to put the main stadium as much in the center of the site as possible to encourage fans to walk past practice fields. Most other spring training stadiums are close to the main road with practice fields clustered on the other side of the complex. “Think about yourself approaching the stadium through baseball facilities rather than around baseball facilities. Think about being part of the action instead of being separated from the action,’’ architect Morris Stein said. You can see the existing manmade lake in the bottom right corner and the M Canal way off in the upper right corner.

The main entrance off Haverhill Road offers view of existing 12-acre lake and the stadium just east of the north end of the lake. There will be five entrances to the stadium in all, three off Haverhill and two off Military Trail.

Four of the six fields are arranged in a cloverleaf pattern called “quads.’’ “You’re literally walking on the same paths that your favorite baseball players are walking,’’ Stein said. “You might be walking down the path and (Astros star) Jose Altuve or (Nationals star) Bryce Harper just happens to walk by you.’’

Grass berms will stretch across most of the outfield, seating more than 1,000 people. “It will probably the most exciting and sought-after ticket. When the gates open two hours before game day, people will rush to the lawn with their blankets,’’ Stein said.

Second level will have press boxes and four suites. Tentative plans call for the teams to share one suite, Palm Beach County to get one and two that might be sold to local corporations.
