assuming we're gonna get a real starting pg this offseason, its a good pick. dont need another guard with terry, nick and whoever's gonna be the pg. im not a big brewer fan since he cant shoot or defend consistnetly. we need more above avg shooter, only have harden. there's potential. if brewre is gone then he can contribute right away? i hope so
I knew we weren't taking Tyus. The Rockets never draft the player people expect us to. As far as Dekker goes, I'm like the pick. He's definitely talented and he has a high IQ. He seems very NBA ready so I don't anticipate him being in the D-League very much, if at all. McHale will probably use him just as much as he used Parsons in his rookie year. I think he's great insurance for if/when Brewer leaves.
Rozier pick allowed for Dekker to fall..Dekker is going to be a good player. And any player that JJ Watt and Aaron Rodgers roots for...is gonna have my support... For realz though...I like what the Rockets are doing...lock up a decent stretch forward for 4 years and key eyes on the market for a experience PG.
He doesn't have the goofy factor to his game like Parsons... And a team that jacks up a bunch of 3's needs a consistent 3 point shooter.

He definitely needs to work on his shot, but clearly he knows how to make it work for him...Not racist to compare him to Parsons, very similar skills, build, height, etc. This guy seems a little more athletic though, or maybe it's just aggressiveness, hard to say.
Yes and also it was rumored that Houston wanted another 1st round pick. They likely knew that they would be able o get Tyus Jones and another position of need in the first round. Also with it being a late first round pick the trade should not too much more than the 32nd pick.
Dmo was drafted by twolves. Llull not on roster. Dekker is not on roster. Addendum, and will Nick and Pap be on roster next year? I think only Capela qualifies.
Dekker doesn't have the length and footwork to become a great defensive player. Offensively, he's similar to Brewer. He's got a better shot and and can shoot off the dribble. His 62.9 2pt percentage ranked second only behind Okafor. He really believes he was the best player at Wisconsin and should have been drafted way higher. I think he's going to work and play with a chip on his shoulder and prove to be a capable starting SF in a couple years.
I think he's got more aggression and post up ability but similar skills. Dekker is a more explosive natural athlete so it will be interesting to watch him mature. Not sure what comes of KJ McD?
