Most impressive tropical system that I've ever seen without even a Depression label. NHC knows this will bring tropical storm conditions to the coast. They need to change how warnings and watches are issued.
They finally pulled the trigger. It's now named Bill. Let's hope it doesn't dump on us too badly as it makes landfall to our west.
It would be really hard to say. We still don't know exactly where it will make landfall or where feeder bands may set up.
Not much to the west now. More NNW between Matagorda and Freeport. That isn't good for us being on the dirty side.
I was hoping for more of a Corpus Christi landfall. If it looks like Freeport that can be uber bad for us with regards to the rainfall. But again still too early to tell. Edit: Let's hope the NHC track pans out.
I am quite surprised it took the NHC so long to name this storm. Bill is intensifying. Just a side note.. 2/3's of the time the storm makes land fall outside of the track provided by the NHC. See Link: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutcone.shtml Time will tell but this might end up closer to Galveston than we expect.
I think you got the 2/3rd's reversed. "Based on forecasts over the previous 5 years, the entire track of the tropical cyclone can be expected to remain within the cone roughly 60-70% of the time."
Let's hope we don't have to worry about high winds with the grounds saturated with rainfall. That could be really bad for power outages.
Strangely enough, Galveston got very little to zero rain during the last deluge that pummeled/flooded Houston.
I just bought a Weber Genesis grill. My first adult grill! If it flies off of my balcony I'm gonna be so mad bruhs.
Im lucky to be on the 4th floor. Will only have to worry about my power going out. My ex's house is notorious for flooding. I sent her a good luck text but I really dont mean it and she knows it.
