Finally letting him do his natural thing and just get after it. Looks freakishly fast off line of scrimmage. Merciles got at least one sack because of Clowney, they were tripple teaming through parts of the game.
Really really really praying Cushing is the worst casualty we have this season. I think clowney is amazing, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Very cautious.

Yesterday made me very excited about the Clowney, Mercilus, and Watt combo. Watt will shake the rust off (he got better in the second half), Mercilus looks like he is continuing his productivity from last year (and maybe getting even better), and Clowney showed signs of explosiveness and was in the backfield all day. They were also opening things up for other guys to make plays.
It creates "pick your poison" moments where someone is going to get opportunities. In yesterday's game, they picked Mercilus and he made them pay, if they decide to pay more attention to Mercilus then either Watt or Clowney is going to get opportunities. We are finally at a place where we have the "can't block everyone" line that we've been looking for.
Why does mine show 83.1? Him and Merci had the highest two grades for Edge defenders. Maybe they updated? Because I dont remember seeing their scores this high when I checked this morning.
Perhaps, that's pretty odd. I just checked the number before I posted, perhaps they had it higher earlier.
If healthy the guy is a beast. Only a tiny but very vocal minority disagree with that. I like that he lowered his goals to playing all 16 games. I hope he achieves that.
