He will be fully healed from the microfracture surgery next season. So come next September he will be the second best player on defense and third best player on the team.

To think, the guy we passed up is #3 in the NFL for passing TDs this season

    We could've had Blake Bortles

Obvious joke, but we were pretty set with Fitz, Mallet and Hoyer.

Bortles and Carr are looking like they could be decent QB's but I don't really think the Texans are kicking themselves for not drafting anyone else on this list. Probably Carr the most since they could have had him with the second round pick and passed.

Clowney and Carr would have been amazing if they had the courage to do it.

That said, I'm sure they are fine with the guys they have. Clowney is looking like he'll be very good going forward and XSF will be a key spot in our O line for the foreseeable future.

I'm still pretty sad we didn't draft Carr. Too scared of the name I guess.

Khalil Mack has 3 sacks today at the start of 4th quarter

Clowney has 2.5 sacks for his career

Lmao dude give it up. So if the Jags offered you Bortles for Clowney you would reject it?

In all fairness, it took JJ an entire year to figure it out. At this time next year, we'll be able to tell if it was a good pick or not.

He flashes right now, sets the edge, frees up JJ. Worth the pick so far even if this is all he does the rest of his time here. Best player in the draft? No.

That's great! You should make a Khalil Mack thread and post it there!

I love your passive aggressive whining! Nice touch.

Yeah, my wife's a Bronco fan and I watched that game wishing we would have taken Mack. My son had hoped we would take Mack over Clowney.

Clowney looks like a pure 4-3 end and I'm not sure he'll ever be spectacular in our defense. Hopefully he will.

We single handily made the raiders relevant with our "missed" picks

So did Jacksonville, St Louis, and Buffalo. Not to mention the whole league passing up on Carr. I can't stand fans who keep looking for different ways to make their team look bad. What about all the teams that helped Houston get better by drafting Hopkins and Watt.

That's true also. I am just frustrated with our bad draft classes

That's okay. But are you excited about the good draft picks?

They've already rejected that, I'd imagine they'd do so again.

I remember someone telling me Mack would get destroyed by NFL offensive tackles(might have been you know who). He would only be able to rely on finesse moves, and would probably get pancaked often by them.

I said something about the Ohio State game, where Mack had a monster game, and he bull rushed their tackle, who is a solid NFL prospect this year, with great success.

Look at Mack's highlights. He absolutely destroyed their left tackle on one of his sacks today.
Just read Bobby's takes on Clowney and Mack for three pages or so here.

Yeah, I could find more. Mack's ceiling is Von Miller, and Clowney's floor is Mario Williams. I like that one. Mack is not good enough in the pass rush to live in the NFL. He relies solely on blockers missing him.

That's our self-crowned football God. You guys wait, we'll all figure it out some day.

I'm not saying I hate Clowney or anything, but Mack would have provided so much more for this team. I'll still support Clowney through and through, but I'm just saying.
