Haven't seen a thread about this, so here ya go. Started yesterday and today is already packed, you can see the schedule here: http://www.iaafbeijing2015.com/special/iaaf_sch_en/ Medal table here: http://www.iaafbeijing2015.com/special/iaaf_medaltable_en/ 100m semis in 15 minutes, finale in three hours. Gatlin has been in brutal form this season, hate how we is still allowed to compete after his multiple bans. Bolt hasn't been in great shape but had a good outing in his last Diamond League race. Think we'll see a low 9.6x time in the final, Bolt and Gatlin will push each other to their limits. Today will also include the men's 400m hurdles and 800m semis, hammer-throw and shot-put finals.
He tripped at the begininng and nearly fell down, lucky he made it to the finale. Powell and Gay haven't been in great shape this year, the finale will be all about Gatlin vs. Bolt.
Please don't clutter this thread so much, it's hard to follow with all the posts coming in. Anyways, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, female's 100m, 10000m and 3000m finals today, should be good. Also 400m semis. Hope ya can still see this post in five hours, the posting rate here is too high.
I see you guys are hyped for the 400m final (in 40 minutes), who are your favourites? Think Kirani James will win this, he's in great shape. Maybe we should make a thread for each event, as it's hard to follow this one.
Germany's Krause with Bronze at 3000m steeplechase, at only 23 years! Great race and expecting big things in the future.
Van Niekerk with an insane 43.48sec for Gold, ran out of his mind and even had to be carried out on a stretcher afterwards.
Bolt is nearing his thirties, now who is the new star of track and field? It is not like in soccer, where they have 18 year olds lining up to be the next great thing.
It is amazing. She only switched to sprinting 1.5 year ago. She has the potential to become really dominant. Respect for Yung for keeping this thread alive.
Gotta represent the Athletics in this board, thanks for appreciating it. Her development is truly amazing, wonder how close she'll come to Florences's WR. Nice to see Europe winning in the sprinting competitions. Our German Cindy Roleder won Silver in the 100m steeplechase today, totally unexpected.
Yung-T, I'm very disappointed in you and this thread. You started this thread and didn't even bother to mention the American sprinter Jenna Prandini and how she's quite nice....of a runner I mean. Why you disappoint? Any other "nice" runners in the women's field that competed in Beijing 2015?
A lot of them, but I was kinda down in the dust here, none of the brehs interested in Athletics. Guess I need to post the Best Athletics Asses in the OP of the next events.
