Whats the probability that there is a Hack and BOB reunion in the NFL? Seems like destiny to me. Hack is so inaccurate at Penn State. Not sure how he suddenly becomes more accurate in the NFL suddenly.

I think part of the problem with Hack, at least in 2014, was a weak O-Line. Note that I didn't watch much Penn State, just going off of sacks, TFL, and the local media. So my guess is he was/has been rushed into a lot of throws, which is affecting his accuracy. Look at 2013 - his sack total for the entire season is nearly where it already is in 2015!!

I'd love Hack - I don't think we will be bad enough to get a top 3 pick and Jarded Goff. You're going to have Chicago, NOLA, Cleveland, Washington all competing for a higher draft pick, and I expect each of them would take Cook or Goff over anybody else. Hack will be next best available and we know B'OB loves him. It could also allow us to take somebody else higher in the draft (OLB or OL?).

By the way, what the heck happened to Mercilus? He looked solid last year starting for Clowney, and I haven't heard his name called once this year. I guess once he got that extension he decided to pack it in.

if it's going to be Savage or a rookie QB next year, you want to keep Foster around to help him out

would also draft OL to help out a young QB

Agreed on Foster. Unless Oday or XSF can't hold down the LG spot, this team actually has quality depth at O-line. I'm warry of Newton, considering the caliber of RG next to him, he shouldn't be having this much trouble. He's taken a step back. Maybe he'll get it together and turn things around. But overall, I like the line depth at tackle and center. If XSF finally does bust, then you must draft an interior lineman without question.

Everyone seems to believe that all things point to an obvious reunion. How much of that chatter is true remains to be seen.

As a true freshman he showed signs of being the elite college QB people thought he would be. Working with a much less talented team, and under OB's tutelage he excelled. Since Franklin took over, the talent has continued to dwindle, especially along the offensive line. He basically has no time in the pocket, and being a tall lanky pocket passer, he lacks scrambling ability. Not all of his stats are to blame because of the players around him. He has seemed to take a drastic step back from when he was working with OB. His fundamentals haven't progressed, and with the little time he has in the pocket, his progress in reading defenses seems to also be stunted.

I don't think he would be capable of coming in as a rookie and starting, but his issues simply could be because of the bad team/coaching around him. The upside however is that he'll be 3 months into being 21 years of age when he gets drafted. He has a lot of time to learn and grow.

Thoughts on him very however. Some say he's a top 5 draftable player, some say he'll drop to the bottom of the first or even top of the 2nd. Not a lot of people really know the what to take away from his last two years under Franklin, where he has regressed a lot of cases. Did he hit his peak with OB or does Franklin not have a clue on how to coach him and put together a team that can take advantage of his talent? Only time will tell.

I'm not exactly pumped about OB having the inside track on him, considering everything he's said and done with Mallet/Hoyer. Sometimes you see what you want with guys you've been close to, other than what is actually there.

    His Current and Previous Stats:

CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT
    2015 87 164 1086 53.0 6.62 49 7 2 19 120.3
    2014 270 484 2977 55.8 6.15 79 12 15 44 109.4
    2013 231 392 2955 58.9 7.54 68 20 10 21 134.0

The most common rule of thumb in the NFL is that if you're not accurate in college where guys are a so wide open, you won't ever grow into an accurate passer in the NFL where the window of being open is about a 1/4 of the college window. (See Mallet)

I would be ok with hackenberg also but I would be really ecstatic if we could grab him early in the 2nd so we could get a more impact player in the first round. I doubt hackenberg plays at all barring injury his first year. Obrien has stated before he believes it's extremely hard for a rookie QB to start right away.

Just draft offense this year. We need a QB, a running back, a Quality TE, and offensive linemen.

    We have needs beyond QB:

RB- I don't think we want Blue as our starter. Polk has been a bust and is an FA. Grimes is an rfa and we have Hunt as well, but those are just part time guys.

WR- We're still a one WR team. Shorts, nate, Strong, and Mumph have been ok at times, but no true #2 has emerged. Nate will be a FA and Shorts an FA next year. My guess is we let Nate leave and roll with the rest. But Hopkins is also an FA next year, and that will probably be a big contract.

TE- we don't have a good receiving te. All are under contract next year.

OL- Starters Brooks and Ben Jones are going to be free agents this offseason. Clark and Adams too. I'm thinking Brooks could be pricey.

ILB- Cushing, McKinney, and Dent are signed. Keep rolling with them I suppose? There were Cushing trade rumors earlier this year.

DE- Crick will be a FA. Maybe we just keep him for cheap.

Special Teams- Lechler and Novak will be FAs.

We are pretty set for awhile in the secondary and at olb. Both KJs, JJ, Clowney, Mercilus, and Hal are signed.

Watt and Wilfork also signed so it looks like we'll have some continuity on defense. Just need to address the hole at ilb.

Sportstrac says we have 20+mil in capspace next year. A good chunk may go to Brooks and Jones

Yeah, Brooks will get a piece of that pie...Im not a fan of Jones though, he's been a poor replacement for Myers and that's a position that we can definitely improve upon.

Yeah, but if our draft priorities are QB and possibly RB, we may need to sign a FA C

I would add safety to your list.

If Foster is done done, I could see the Texans drafting RB in the first. If not, the Texans maybe draft a TE in the first, depending on who is available.

They will also be creating more cap space by cutting players like Graham and Foster.

Yeah, fosters contract is 9.3m but his dead money is only 2.3m

    Graham is 4M and 750k

It doesn't seem we have any really bad contracts outside of Cushing's.
