Dwight took his team to the finals which Yao did not

This is because Yao had to play with that McGrady character who never led any team past the first round of the playoffs

Yao found Ron Artest too late :(

It's not obvious, Lin fans think that Lin was the Jackie Robinson of Asians, you remember that? LOF came here and said stupid stuff and completely disregarded Houston's history.

He's not even the Jermaine Jackson of Asians

Yao was the Michael Jackson and Jackie Robinson of Asians

I didn't cherry pick statistics. Since when were rebounds, scoring, blocks, fg%, DPOY awards, and rebounding championships cherry picked statistics for centers? You're weird dude.

I see scoring, rebounds, blocks, fg%

    Head to Head stats:
    Yao| .561% shooting, 23.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.1 blocks
    Dwight| .451% shooting, 12.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.7 blocks

GS does not mean GS-as-a-PG. Kemba Walker has started every game this season for the Hornets, so unless you think Kemba played SG for some of those games, Lin has not started at PG the entire season.

I was an Operations Research/Industrial Engineering major at Cornell and had 4 semesters of grad-level statistics as an undergrad. As Mark Twain said, there are three kinds of lies: Lies, damn lies, and statistics. If you want to go heavy into statistics, I can give you dozens of stats that can "prove" Lin is great, and even more reasons why none of these statistics are meaningful at all.

    And Yale sucks.

There is no question his offensive numbers are down...everyone can see that, and much of it has to do with him playing more SG (where he is undersized in the NBA) instead of PG.

And if you think his defensive stats are any indication of how he's playing defensively this season, you haven't watched him play at all. He has arguably been the Hornets' best defensive player, and the Hornets generally play pretty good defense.

Yao was way better. Why do you even have to ask?

LOFs. What is wrong with Lin? Is he injured? And Lamb?

Asking to determine what kind of position will Charlotte have in the trade deadline. Seller or Buyer.

Also did you see the game with MKG back? How did he fit? Thanx.

Same player, same thread, different day.

Jeremy is putting up average numbers on the season, which aligns with his skill set. However, he has had a few good showings recently, but again, he's inconsistent, even with regular minutes.

There's really not that much to discuss about his game. It's likely that he plateaued long ago. There hasn't been any significant growth. It happens.

I read an article about some of his recent charity work, which was cool. Off of the court, he seems to be a nice person.

    Cool.

Actually, Lin fans think that Lin was the Jackie Robinson of Asian-AMERICANS. And he certainly has the chance to be...he broke through a lot of discrimination to get to the NBA and has inspired tons of Asian-Americans around the country. No one has EVER claimed that Lin is as talented an athlete as Robinson was, and no one says that Asian-Americans face the same kind/level of discrimination that African-Americans did/do...but in terms of what he represents to Asian-Americans, he absolutely was our Jackie Robinson. Now his journey isn't finished, so I don't know if he has truly broken down discrimination barriers (this thread is obvious that he hasn't, actually)...but he has the best chance of doing it of the Asian-Americans that have tried to find place in professional sports.

Yao Ming didn't do anything really for Asian-Americans, mostly because he wasn't American. He did tons for the Chinese, tho...

LOL @ making a bench player journey man as your role model.

    Talk about lowering expectations.

    thank you.
    Lamb is coming back soon?

Do you think that the Hornets will make a trade? Perhaps trading Marvin Williams now that MKG is back? Or is he too important for them?

I would love to get Williams expiring.

What pricks not recognizing what Yao did on a global level.

People in new york and California are too self centered to know.

Yao was breaking down barriers for every single asian on the planet.

    And yao loves people.

    Lin doesn't even love people.

    He loves 2 things.

    Jesus
    And his brand.

That's why he was such a b**** when he saw Carmelo wearing #7

Yao is bigger and more global

He appeals to all, not just the fat asians who miss free throws so they don't make it on the pick up games

    Screw the lof
    Yao forever
    Lin never

LMAO. How the **** did you get into ANY college?

You say one thing and then proceed to contradict yourself on a quite consistent basis. If I think his defendive stats are any indication of the defense he's playing? LOL. Holy... horse crap.

It sounds like you have a different definition of defense than the rest of the basketball world. He's giving up the same amount of points per 100 as usual but daaaaamn his defense is vastly improved. *chuckle*
