When you typically win games by the slimmest of margins, one lapse in concentration can cost you points. Even as a Madrid fan, it's been awesome to see them beat teams that are more talented because of their intense concentration and sacrifice, but it's also very difficult to maintain the type of concentration needed to play that style of soccer.

Saw on Twitter that 3/4 of the fans left before Pellegrini made his farewell speech to the fans. That sucks. :(

That's what you get, when you sell your identity to arab money and lock true fans out of the stadium with inappropriate ticket prices.

Wooooow we snatched Renato Sanches out of nowhere, BRitish tabloids made it sounds like he was going to ManU!!!! 35mil transfer sum!!!

    Hummels also official, 38mil!

Can't wait for this new season.

Kinda think this means Götze will leave, but we'll see.

Wow. 35m+45m bonuses for Renato Sanches to Bayern. Potentially 80m, that's insane. He's very talented of course, but what a gamble! This summer is going to be crazy.

The reports are wrong, there's an official Benfica document saying the total sum of the transfer can reach 45mil if all bonus requirements are triggered.

Massive massive game today for United later today

Win and City are pretty much resigned to playing Europa League under Pep

    Edit:
The Benfica document confuses a lot of people and it can be read as 35+45 or 45. Hope there'll be a clarifcation soon.

That lunch break was kinda special. Checked the news without further expectations to see my club spending over 70 Mio. EUR in one day ^^

Hummels was kinda obvious and I'm looking forward to see him take his talents back to South Germany. We will need his qualities in the Champions League. Renato Sanches on the other hand comes completely out of nowhere. There wasn't even a rumor or something around, so big kudos to all sides getting this deal done secretly. I haven't seen him a lot from him, but Sanches' game looks very grown regarding his age (18).

Damn, not long until the first player born in the new century will be signed! I feel old...

Never trust the British Tabloids. They're just as bad as Multiple Sauces Broussard. Good get though, he's highly regarded and only 18 years old!

Feeling bad for BVB that Bayern took their captain but Hummels is Bavarian bloke. Can't blame him for wanting to go back home.

Hopefully, United can get some good players in this summer.

Nice post, The Stig. I am firmly behind Manchester United tonight. It would be the most awesome thing ever to bump Man City out of the Champions League next year.

Just read that Bayern didn't want a huge initial transfer sum in order to lower the expectations (especially for the player himself, so that he can settle in better) and therefore implemented those huge bonus payments. Apparently Benfica will receive 6mil/season that Sanches plays for Bayern (don't know if there's a minimum of games he has to play each season), so that would mean we pay 35+25 in case Sanches stays til his first contract ends in 2021. Other bonus payments would include World XI and Ballon D'or. Benfica apparently also collects 5% of a transfer sum in case we sell Sanches later.

Pretty hefty transfer sum all in all, but he's a huge talent and the sum would be justified in case we trigger most of the bonus payments, as that would mean he has success at Bayern.
