That's almost exactly how I feel about all of our teams. Although with the Rockets, though I'll always be a massive fan, I don't get too broken up about their plight anymore. Those 2 rings will always be the pinnacle of my sports fandom, and any future Rockets championships will always pale in comparison to those. I'd prefer a Super Bowl trophy be brought to the city over another Rockets championship, at this point (but beggars can't be choosers). Gimme a World Series over both though.
That's what happens when the regime before the current one completely burns the organization to the ground.
Sure, AAA could be and often are wrong. But the number of sucky players that have had a great 10 day stretch is long too. I'm always going to trust years of minor league data over 10 days of major league data, especially when the next 15 days of major league data went right back to sucking. Sorry - 10 was just a random number I picked. After 10 games, he was batting 0.344 with a 1.000 OPS. He's now at 0.284 and a 0.768 OPS, which tells you what he's done since. Basically, he had a hot week and his numbers reflect that because of a small sample size. But he's a fringe MLB player based on years of minor league data.
There was something about Cosart where I never warmed up to him so I don't care that he was traded. I did like what I saw in the 12 games or so of Kike, but I also liked Brandon Barnes. Based on a very small sample size, I do hope (for the Astros sake), that Kike does not turn into another Ben Zobrist. There was just a presence about Kike that appealed to me. I didn't see him as a long term solution to any position, but I did see him as a super utility guy. Granted, he could regress to a .240 hitting journeyman, but I would have liked to see him get the chance. And, it is true, that prior to 2 weeks ago, I had no real knowledge of him as a player.
I'll buy that if referring to Drayton. Wade did a good job of starting the rebuild though. He did a horrible job building a major league team but hard to say how much of that was driven by Drayton also. Will be interesting to see of Luhnow ever builds a major league roster here, and if he does what it looks like
Yep, his best regular position is 2B. He's not an everyday LF or SS or 3B as it stands. I loved Eric Bruntlett too.
