dude has the highest vertical in the draft. athletic doesn't begin to describe him. talk about an exciting player.
Rockets fans MO: get more excited about 2nd rounders than 1st rounders lolol I'm really excited to see Nick play. If he can be a defensive guard, I'm sold.
Now all he needs is for Harden to relenquish his jersey number so. . . It's the least Harden could do considering Johnson is gonna play all of his D for him.

Not bad at all. High energy hustle player that can hopefully make plays. Not much more you can ask for in a 2nd rounder.
Said it in the draft thread already but I'll say it again, LOVE the pick I'm surprised nick fell that far. I just graduated from Arizona and had the opportunity to see this guy play every game for the past 3 seasons. He's a stud and he's all hustle. The quote about him latching onto bev is truth. He's got some grit in his game but at the same time he's a classy guy. Insane leaping ability and has the ability to put up points off the drive or jumper. Gets a lot of nice backside blocks too cause players underestimate how high nick can reach. Fun fact: His freshman year he was the WORST defender in college basketball. No joke or exaggeration. The kid was absolutely awful on the defensive end. Made harden look like Pippen. The very next season he was the teams best defender.
I think his dad played at Pepperdine and I remember reading in a college preview years ago about him being DJ's brother and having a ridiculous vertical just like his son seems to have.
He a very solid defender and even though he's small, he's got some length to his wingspan. And he hustles hard on the defensive end.
Supposedly nicks father, "jumping" Joey Johnson, played a little bit of pro ball. The guy reportedly had a 52" vertical. No lie. And yea, nicks uncle is DJ.
