I would like to sign him to a 4 year deal. A 3 year rookie deal for the rockets is really 2 years of production on the rockets, 1 year or RGV.
I agree that he is better than Canaan right now. I keep waiting to see something from Canaan, but I haven't seen anything that has really impressed me about his game.
I really like Nick... The kid has talent and fire. Maybe the Rockets may call him up this year from the D-League.
I'm not sure about that honestly, he needs to develop some kind of shot first. His dunks are exciting and his defensive awareness is nice, but 24% 3 point shooting isn't going to cut it.
He will have to shoot around 34% from the arc but Lin and Harden were an awful backcourt defensively and Lin couldn't handle pressure defense offensively. We won't miss him at all. That said, we need a starting PG no doubt
Not at all. Inability to go left, poor basketball IQ and stupid turnovers won't be missed at all. Like I said in the previous post we still need a starting PG though.
Well I'm by no means a Lin fan, but until we get someone capable of replacing him (which IMO we don't have right now) then we will miss him at least a little bit. Neither Canaan or Johnson is capable of taking on that role adequately though maybe they will be able to do it eventually.
I don't think the D league counts. I have seen every minute he has played in the NBA, and most of his play in the summer league, but I really haven't seen much from him that stood out.
Nick is going straight to the D League IMO. I don't think he's ready for the NBA yet. He's been doing great against other players who should be going to the D-League... But I still can't get it out of my head how Payton destroyed him easily in the Orlando game. Nick could barley get a shot of when Payton was guarding him and Nick couldn't guard Payton AT ALL. And Payton didn't even look like he was trying.
