his post draft highlight on espn was hilarious, probably the worst I've ever seen lol. they showed him getting scored on
Bima help, or somebody with knowledge help! Ok so I read this on real GM "First round picks can sign for as much as 120% and as little as 80% of the rookie scale. I also read that the first year salary of the 25th pick would be $991,000, so does this mean that Capela could be signed for 80% of $991,000 (which would be $792,800)?
T-Jones with better length would be a star in this league for many years. I know T-Jones got taken to the back of the woodshed against LMA but he's got a good foundation/background and some true skills and has lots of room to polish/improve them. Saying Capela is like Jones is setting up for major disappointment.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Morey on Capela: "I thought he had the top upside outside the top few picks. Right outside the top 10, I think he has the most upside."</p>— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen/statuses/482396281625522178">June 27, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
How so? TJones has good handles for his size and even a subpar jumper. Capela is pretty raw compared to him, but has prototypical PF size/athleticism.
based off the post draft interview...Morey said an interesting tidbit(something i didnt know)...Drafting Capela allows for the Rockets to stash him in Europe and not worry about a cap hold for their first round pick(something that is now allowed since the last CBA).
Defensivly Capela has a better upside than Jones. From what I've seen and read since we picked him he is a really good finished around the rim but has no offensive game from outside of the paint. His defensive fundamentals are raw, but he has good shot blocking and rebounding instincts. Jones and Capela are 2 completely different players, so I don't know why people are comparing the 2. Jones is a 3/4 hybrid. Capela is a 5 for sure. If anything Morey is hoping he becomes a more athletic version of Asik in the long term.
Every rookie signs for 120%. Memphis stirred the pot when they tried to sign Xavier Henry for 'just' 100% of the scale and increasing it up to 120% with incentives, but they ended up caving.
Dude, at one stage Euro player was drafted and ESPN played the highlights for a different player. Draft Express has a much better video highlighting positives and negatives.
I hope NBA TV teams up with them for the next draft. I'd gladly watch Webber and the others guys instead of Simmons and Rose.
