[condescending ass]Oh, and I'll be taking over this thread now.[/condescending ass] Give me Rodon, or give me Kolek!
If Rodon ever is able to develop that changeup...he's gonna be filthy. Just needs to add polish because he can get away with his pure stuff, but he should be a good one.
Well Astros are 4 games behind Marlins. Yelich is now with th e Marlins so he might them another bat.
Yep, they called up two guys. They should be better... hopefully. Justin Turner is pitching really well for them, same with Fernandez.
Coming off an impressive Summer and if he has a monster junior season how long will it take Rodon to make it to the Majors and how much will he sign for ? IF the Stros have the 1st pick...
Here's video on potential top five 2014 draft prospect, Jeff Hoffman. In his most recent podcast, Fox's Kiley McDaniels calls Hoffman the current top overall 2014 draft prospect. McDaniel reports that Hoffman is 6'4, athletic, and has an explosive three pitch repertoire. He also mentions Appel as a comparable prospect. http://sbb.scout.com/2/1308966.html <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rTj5CsI6Fqg?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That is Luhnow's plan because Springer has no business in the minors no longer. Specially with JD Martinez injury. Can't risk losing Rodon so he will hold Springer until Sept. 1 unless the Astros widen the lead on the Marlins .
Springer has done well at AAA, but he hasn't been there that long and most reports say he still doesn't have a very good 2 strike approach. The K's may never come down with him, but that doesn't mean we should rush him up here.
I think maybe Luhnow hasn't moved him up because he wants to see how he's handled the second time around the PCL. How they adjust to him and how he adjusts to that. His numbers have cooled way off, the last ten games shows .713 OPS.
and Lyles if he gets some consistency. That gives us room for one of the above guys to fail or get injured... hell Keuchel's even shown some flash, so maybe he's a contender in a few years for us, too
Yep, and there is more depth in the system besides those top guys. Some won't make it, some will. The depth is what makes it great, and gives hope for a strong pen too
With the pick acquired in the Norris deal, the Astros will have 3 selections within the first 40, or so, picks, including potentially the number 1 pick. Should be fun.
Wojciechowski, Peacock, Tropeano, Velasquez, Buchanan, Hader, Thurman, many more. The depth is crazy.
