I'm not sure if it has been mentioned between all the disagreement, but isn't the ultimate goal of the tandem system two-fold: 1.) increase the number of starting pitching prospects to evaluate (with a system suddenly so deep with pitching prospects, this seems like a good idea); and 2.) to limit the injury risk of our pitching prospects (still too early to determine if this is actually mitigating injury risk or not, but seems to be a good start, at least from my non-expert following of our farm system). So again, while it is still way too early before we all proclaim the tandem system either an utter failure or resounding success, it at least appears to me that the ultimate objectives are being met.
Agreed... the front office objectives are being met. Will be interesting to see if its adopted elsewhere.
Soooooo..... Greeneville's season is underway. Here's their lineup: 1. Jason Martin, CF 2. Juan Santana, 2B 3. Sean McMullen, LF 4. Yonathan Mejia, 1B 5. Conner Goedert, 3B 6. Trent Woodward, DH 7. Jake Nottingham, C 8. Ydarqui Marte, RF 9. Luis Reynoso, SS Starter: Austin Nicely Now back to your tandem-system arguments.
Not sure if it's relevant in this thread anymore . .but Santana with 3 more hits last night has his average getting close to .300 Reid said last week he likely wouldn't be here until September Hoes is hitting .500 in his last 10 games down at OKC, sure would like to see him get a shot to play everyday in left for a while till we get Santana here

It just appears that you can never agree with anyone. I make a statement like that and you turn it into a negative. Springer does bad and you say, they should have brought him up last year to get the badness out. Springer does well and you say, see, they should have had him up here all along.
We need to start banning people that don't post Astros related material, I can't ban but henceforth i can ignore. Anyway, let's see if we can't try to get this thread back in order Conrad Gregor, I get the feeling he's the type of player that's gonna continue to destroy Lancaster. Another 2-5 night, his Lancaster OPS is now at 1.065. More interesting than that, his K-BB ratio on the year is 38/39, any player that K's that little and walks that much has my attention. I know how conservative this organization is, but I would really like to see him in CC sooner rather than later, his approach just seem extremely advanced. Will his power surge leave Cali, who knows, but I think he's just wasting time there. Anthony Kemp is very much in the same boat with an even better K/BB ratio, he needs to be in CC now.
I would love to see Gregor, Kemp and Correa at AA. Anywhere other than Lancaster to see how they do in a more normal environment. And get Appel out of there too, move him up or down either way, but out of Lancaster is my opinion And as for the organization being very conservative, that does seem to be the consensus of most people's opinion. But look at each league we play in, and it seems the youngest player in those leagues are Astros. I don't think we are really as conservative as it seems
Do you know if him saying that is posted somewhere? I am trying to find something stating that and would love to have a link. Thanks!
Astros are slightly conservative on promotions, but the portrayal of them as being out of the ordinary conservative is a myth. Springer almost has as many at bats in the majors as he has had in any level of the minors except at Lancaster. The Astros not having anyone in the majors blocking a player makes it seem like the Astros are taking significantly longer to get players to the majors.

Of course not. Meanwhile the catcher from Indiana was signed immediately, performed well at Short A and has already been promoted. College vs high school kid but still, would have liked to see Aiken pitch before the end of June.
