Agreed. Since 2007-2008, with the exception of 2010-2011, the team that eliminated Bayern (or Bayern) has always won the Champions League. 7 out of the last 8 years.
O le le, O la la, ser del Barça és el millor que hi ha Virtual hugs and tossing of beer! The best club in the World and the first with TWO Tribles!
Enjoyed the game -- haven't been following soccer much this year so it was nice to catch a quality final.
The front 3 will only get better next year. They will be favorites to repeat in the UCL, and win another treble!!!
Congrats to Barca. Best team this year. But I still don't get people and media worshipping Messi that much. He didn't really show up yesterday (Iniesta was the decisive factor) like he didn't show up in any other big match or tourney. Great player, yes, but just as Ronaldo he disappears when it counts the most.
He had 2 goals and 1 assists vs Bayern, also had brilliant scenes yesterday and was responsible for the 2nd goal. Looking at his past CL stats he scored like 0.5 goals/assists per match in KO games, which is imho very good.
Against a very, very short-handed Bayern, whose individual mistakes (Bernat, Boateng) opened the door. Just a matter of opinion, I didn't see brilliance from him yesterday, like I saw from Iniesta. 2nd goal, Juventus gave him way too much space (they had several counters with numbers) and he didn't actually play it intelligent but egoistic, got lucky the ball fell to Suarez. General stats don't matter to this subject. As I said, he's a great player but tends to not show up in the very important games.
He decided the Bayner tie. H He decided the Copa Del Rey game. He was involved in ALL 3 goals in the CL final. He had 10 dribbles. His side was always jammed with 3-4 players and thus his first goal he swung to the left side for the first goal. 2nd goal was primarily due him to and Suarez poached. 3rd goal he kicked it ahead to Neymar for the counter attack. And please do not compare him to Ronaldo. It's a disgrace.
Said enough about the Bayern game. With all respect to Bilbao, they are not elite. I meant games on the biggest stages. Champions League, World Cup. Involved in first goal? It's a dead ball until Iniesta engages. Second goal, as I said, got lucky and could've made better decisions. Third goal wasn't on him either. Look, I'm not saying he was terrible or not involved on Barca being the best. He's their best player, without a doubt. It's just - for a player that is supposed to be the Pele, Maradona or Zidane of this time, you have to expect more in these huge games and I'm annoyed by the fact, that media and a lot of people now pretend he played god-like yesterday. Same with him winning the Golden Ball at last year's World Cup, when he wasn't even close on being the best. That's true. Ronaldo disappears even more.
