Pacquiao had a lot of trouble with Marquez. I think he will have trouble with Mayweather. Both guys are pretty old. If Mayweather didn't have issues with his chin vs that heavy handed Argentinian dude I don't think Pac will be able to stop Money.
Pac will have issues but nonetheless he'll present the best challenge for Mayweather (Southpaw/Angles/Hand & Footspeed), Hatton talked to itv and said his best option is his approach against DLH, going in and out and staying out of range. Typical come forward fighters like Hatton and Cotto just get eaten up by his catching and shooting/pull counter. I'm sorry but Maidana was incredibly ineffective in both fights. Don't let the activity of Maidana fool you, he rarely landed clean, the only notable buzz moment was at bell at the end of a round in the 2nd fight. Mayweather was far more effective (although not his usual dominating self) esp at the 4 round mark onwards of both fights. Thats why I was so pissed there was a rematch. Everyone with half a brain knew what was going to happen. On a related note Lin it'll be interesting to see if the Lakers keep there pick. Sweet irony if by bringing Lin in with a pick he's the one to put them out of that top 5 range. hahahaha
The Lakers are what, 16 and 41 right? It's because of Lin that the Lakers are now in the potential position of keeping that top 5 pick. That's the real bonus which the Lakers hadn't counted on.
you seriously think this team with or without Lin was destined for anything than the top of the lottery?
The "sweet irony" from the Lakers POV is that they thought bringing Lin aboard was (in addition to the pick) insurance for a winning season. Instead, Lin has helped improve their shot at keeping the top 5 pick.
Meh. The only reason this thread is quiet is because he got his numbers. He better consistently get his numbers from now on so that this thread would finally die. But he's so Linconsistent so who knows?
They're in danger of losing their top 5 pick if the win streak continues. Even if they end with the 5th worst record doesn't mean a team with a better record can't win a top 3 and push them 6th. That would be pretty sweet...
proves once again that LOHs are the cancers of this forums. When Lin has a good game, Lin supporters don't come here every time and comment but whenever he has an average or bad game, LOHs come here and post videos, gather comments from Lakersground (Zboy's favorite forum) and bash him here to make themselves feel better. I bet they feel bad cuz they watched a Lakers game to see Lin suck and not a Rockets game today
The Lakers would really need to have one of the 2 worst records to guarantee a top 5 pick. If they have the 3rd worst, there is still a 4% chance that they lose the pick. They are 4th worst now, with a 17.2% chance of losing that pick-- the risk is not huge, but certainly large enough to make me nervous. If they get to the 5th worst record, they'll have a 44.8% chance of losing the pick. Lin played pretty well today. Got to the rim and defended pretty well. Both his boxscore numbers and his +/- were good. If you want to see a guy that really is as bad as some of the Lin critics here think he is, look at Dion Waiters, the guy Lin defended most of the game. Waiter has a nice first step and some skills, but the guy has absolutely terrible decision-making and is terrible at making shots from basically all ranges. No wonder LeBron shipped his ass out of Cleveland. Waiters was almost single-handedly keeping the Lakers in this game.
No Kobe, No Boozer, No Nick Young... then... Linsane numbers happened... He just can't play with any ball-dominant or high-usage players.
@Serena Winters Twitter J. Lin on his progress (1/2): "Part of it is me trying to stay aggressive & get in a rhythm, get in a groove. The other part of it is... J. Lin (2/2): "I'm being trusted w/ the ball & being given those opportunities, given the minutes & the spacing & the style of play."
20 pts 6 rebs 8 assists 3 steals 1 TOs Pretty good stat line (by Lin standards) Actually Lin's last 4 out of 5 games were pretty good. Fairly efficient shooting at close to 50%. Very low TO's.
