Nothing wrong with what Parsons is saying in the GQ article. He's young, rich, and can pull a lot of chicks. He's pushing his brand and making money. I'd probably be the same way if I were him. He's not beating up women, dealing drugs, or robbing people, or making dumb commercials (damn you Lance Berkman ) so more power to him.

We knew the Surgery was more serious than the Mavs reported. I'm surprised more Dallas fans weren't outraged their team was being deceitful in reporting the injury. If that was Morey or Les lying about an injury, Rocket fans would have set fire to the Toyota Center. Even now people think Morey lies to the fans.
You would turn into a douche bag if you had money? That's disappointing. I love it when people justify general doucheness ok if the douche in question isn't a criminal.

Chandler: My hope has always been opening night. I can't promise anything. In my mind, preparing for opening night. I'm doing everything I can everyday. I'm not cleared for contact yet. When you hear you need surgery, it's devastating. Playoffs are the best time to be playing, add in it's against your old team and to see your team struggling, it hurts. I was scared, nervous, I'm deathly afraid of needles but it was a good thing. I'm 26, it slowed me down. It was a good thing. My knee will be stronger than ever. Haven't ran in 4 1/2 months. It was a blessing in disguise. (DJ comments) I was being honest, real and what I felt. What I said, a lot would agree with me. I love it here, this is my team. I plan on being here a long time. It was appropriate to voice my opinion being close to it. I was passionate about it.

Promote my team and the brands that are paying me to? To you that might mean being a douche bag. To others that means making a living. Dude left the team a year ago and the Rockets were better off without him. No need for me to hate on him anymore.
You can do all these things without being an ass hat. The only reason Parsons keeps coming up, and this thread keeps getting bumped is because he keeps talking about the Rockets when promoting his brand. Whenever Parsons does an interview you wonder why he says the things he says. There is no point bringing up the Rockets or talking about your coach's daughter.
The description of his surgery sounds word for word like McGrady's and we all saw how that ended. Parsons is younger and has far less miles than McGrady did but I don't think he will ever be the same player he was prior to the surgery. Although he wasn't an elite athlete for an NBA forward, he absolutely needed the athletisicism he had to be an effective player. It isn't like his passing or shooting will keep him on the court if he can no longer jump or cut like he used to.
Anyone who follows the NBA closely knew it was microfracture. They aren't going to be that good if Parsons and Deron Williams are the premier perimeter players. Parsons was ugly the last time Williams was good.
Now that D-Will has significantly regressed... can we call him "de-RON" again, instead of this "Darren" name that the Utah people called him?
They don't even proof read the bull**** he's telling them do they? There's plenty of people i make calls to for advice several years before meeting them, doesn't everyone?
Don't forget the part where he felt the need to let the reporter know that he is "the most likeable guy in the room" yanno just in case the reporter and people don't get that vibe. Usually best to let people know that quality by stating it.
What I found most interesting (apart from the discrepancy that "Aleron" pointed out. re Parsons-stock market and Cuban first meeting up) is that he and Blake are still friends. I guess that's a good thing he didn't stay salty at Blake for helping get DJ away from the Mavs clutches.
at the end of the day all the players know its a business and they need to do whats best for them regardless of what others think or feel. No reason for CP to be salty with Blake
