“It's a measly manner of existence. To get on that subway on the hot mornings in summer. To devote your whole life to keeping stock, or making phone calls, or selling or buying. To suffer fifty weeks of the year for a two week vacation, when all you really desire is to be outdoors, with your shirt off. And still-that's how you build a future.”
Parsons to potential Mavs free agent "you and I can be the cornerstones, we will never feel offended" Shut up Parsons! You're done idiot. You'll never ever live up to that contract and you'll never get to be 1st or 2nd option on any team worth its weight You suck
Parsons gonna get fat after his surgery. He'll be a bigger role player than the skinny role player he was in Houston.
He helped but he was far from the reason why Dwight chose the Rockets. James Harden and a chance to be mentored by both McHale and Hakeem on an everyday basis were bigger factors of Dwight coming than Parsons. If the Rockets just had Parsons on the team, Dwight doesn't even pick up or saves Parson's number. Like a poster said before me, Parsons more so helped himself with the Howard recruitment. I just dont see how Parsons is going to recruit any top quality free agents, unless they are already interesting in going home (LMA or DeAndre) or Mavericks open up their checkbooks big time (Danny Green for 14M). Who wants to play with an aging defenseless Dirk and Parsons coming off a possible microfracture surgery?
God I hope the Mavs build a team around Parsons. Then we can be tweeting that same horse emoji picture in February instead of April.
The problem with recruiting is you do it from a position of strength. For example: Houston with no Harden = no Howard Houston with Harden = Howard While Parsons may be a smooth talker and he can be a great recruiter, it'll be hard for him to sell the Mavs because at the end of the day he's a role player and he's not good enough to become the selling point in a recruitment pitch. In the case of Dwight, he didn't come to Houston to be buddy buddy with CP, he can do that in his downtime. Really, he came because he thought Harden can help him win a ring. So if CP is gonna do his recruitment, what will be his enticement for potential FAs like say LMA? Come to the Mavs and play with old ass Dirk and a roleplayer who has to get arthoscopic surgery? Ummm, no. Mavs might get good FAs, but that would primarily be due to Cubes being a great owner, the Mavs having top quality amenities (playstations in lockers ftw) and $$$ due to massive capspace rather than the prospect of playing with (possibly broken down) Parsons.
Once upon a time, a wise man opined: “If you want to win the title, you have to be the team that finds the Chandler Parsons, not the team that gives Chandler Parsons the max contract.”
The thing about recruiting to Houston and recruiting to Dallas is that the former has substance behind the sales pitch. James Harden is in his prime and locked in for the next 4 years. Parsons, OTOH, purposely signed a deal that he can opt out next year. What's his sales pitch? Come play with me for a year. But if I get a better deal when the cap goes up I'll go ahead and leave? Come play with Dirk, just pretend he's still Dirk of 5 years ago when he was a superstar?

"I want, I want, I want" Hey Chandler.... <iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0f6l1QljpMo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
"Hey guys, I was sitting on the bench, while y'all were busting your ass to win a game, when i realized we're better off next year with me in control, and with players who are better than you." Yup, dude hasn't changed. That arrogance got him a starting job, got him paid, but now it's not helping anymore.
