I'm actually surprised how low Howard is. And how high Rose is considering he has zero personality.

I guess you don't need personality to sell shoes.

There is no accuracy in these numbers because most of these figure are private. Most of the time, the agents will float inflated numbers around to so they can negotiate better deals with other companies.

I spent 8 hours talking to a Nike golf executive on a plane and he told me that Tiger gets a third of what is normally reported from his contract from Nike.

That's why people like DRose. He's humble, reserved and seems to be more of an introvert unless he's emotional.

I'd rather have kids look up to his personality than a Dwight "I'm Joking/Smiling To Create a Brand" Howard.

I think it's more that D.Rose is a guard and Howard is a center. The majority of the public buying shoes don't need shoes designed for centers, but instead are going to buy shoes designed for guards. Rose is the face of their guard-shoe line.

Shaq shoes were always garbage. I never see anyone wearing Duncans or Garnetts either.

Looks like you provided a list of the highest earning (salary+endorsements) players, not highest endorsement-earning players.

For example, Jeremy Lin makes only $5M+in salary this year, but his endorsement earnings is a lot more than Gasol and maybe Howard. Volvo is reportedly paying him $4M over two years. He also got Nike, Steiner Sports, KFC and (recently) Gatorade.

Apparently Rose doesn't even have to do that for the endorsement money.
