^^Yes, there is a 1-9 team in the playoffs. Not a typo.

 

I thought it was bad enough seeing Round Rock play a 3-7 Akins team. Looking through that list and seeing all of the 3-7 & 2-8 teams, along with a 1-9 team is just pathetic. This isn't the YMCA. It's a waste of a round if it means these teams get to be considered "playoff teams" when they could even manage a winning record.

If Pampa went on a magical run to the championship, they would finish 7-9.

 

It's too bad Diboll's in the D2 bracket. I think high school football in this state would cease to exist if they somehow made it all the way to Arlington.

Also... Trinity might obliterate Marcus by at least 60.

4A Notes:
Dawson 24 Foster 23 and Friendswood 28 Angleton 20 were both good games. Region III Final ("Elite 8") Volleyball today is between Friendswood and Dawson. I think either one would represent the Houston area well at the state tournament. Next week should be interesting: Stratford (Houston Chronicle #6) vs Friendswood (Houston Chronicle #7)

 

Well, RM95, it looks like I'll be making the journey to Rhodes next Friday night.

Elkins playoff win over Dickinson was the first in school history. It was 34-27 and Elkins had the ball on their own 1-yard line. On the last play of the game, they scored on a 99-yard quarterback sneak. No joke.

 

When they played at the Berry Center a couple years ago... man. Most charged atmosphere at any sporting event I've ever been to.
