Other people have reported similar issues. It looks like you might have to reset it. http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/mobile/DlfKZRAU3Y0 http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...er-4-3-update-fail-even-after-hard-reset.html http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2379962 PM me through the board, and I'll try to help you the best way I can.
thanks for the offer, but i called their tech support we did a couple different things including resets/clearing cache etc...nothing worked. so they are going to send me a replacement
is there a way to get this thing to stop trying to reboot. i hold the power button down. it turns off...then it just reboots, then the google x comes up. will the battery eventually just die?
I think your phone was just bricked -- soft bricked most likely. You can probably fix it if you wanted to use your phone right now. My phone was bricked similarly when I was trying to upgrade to 4.2.
If you do it again does it bring you to the fastboot screen? if it does you can probably recover by using one of the nexus 4 toolkits. I used this one to get me back to stock everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995688
yeah...i'm not going to attempt to do something like that. total newb. i'm assuming theres going to be something i'll need to do with my carrier (t-mobile) once i put my sim card in the new nexus 4? or will it be good to go?
got my replacement N4...it asked to update to 4.3 and it worked this time. nice. hopefully no more bricked phones in the future, what a PITA
http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/9/4605328/asus-nexus-10-rumor Looks like it'll be Asus for the N10. The main thing I want them to improve from the 1st gen is the battery life. Even though it pushes a lot of pixels, I think the battery life should be somewhat closer to the Retina iPad.
c'mon, IMF. you're slippin' up. rumor... motorola making the next nexus. http://www.droid-life.com/2013/08/08/rumor-motorola-nexus-coming-in-q4/ maybe, maybe no. motorola will squash samsung if they follow the moto x up with a nexus.
I vow (and this time seriously because I've said it before, and didn't stick with it) to NEVER buy another Android phone if it's not a Nexus. Or at least a playstore edition) Sure, sometimes the OEM's add awesome customizations, but I want flashable fastboot images, easy development, and prompt updates
Ha, that's awesome news. Google can finally produce it's own phone now. I second that vow too. Stock Android is just too awesome, the best smartphone experiences I've had are with my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. And for Developers such as yourself, easy to work with like you said.
is the playstore edition of a phone going to get all the updates at the same time as the current/next Nexus phone?
I'm not a developer anymore. I'm an average consumer now Hell, I don't even use an Android device as my daily driver anymore.
