Keith Jenkins @MrKeith_Jenkins UK's Doron Lamb interviewed with the Rockets, Sixers & Wizards at the NBA combine. Lamb also had a private workout with the Bulls. Bernard James @iBall_ Just killed that Rockets workout! https://twitter.com/iBall_/status/207546430003486721 Marcus Denmon @MizzouMonster12 Had a good workout with the Houston Rockets today, Detroit tomorw then Chicago for the combine Tu Holloway http://www.nba.com/video/teams/warriors/2012/06/07/052812Hollowaymovmov-2122106/ says he had a workout with the Rockets
Bernanrd James, Tu Holloway and Marcus Denmon are second round prospects. In a season I don't think we even have second round picks, but maybe we could purchase a few.
When our lineup is depleted from the Howard trade, we will only be able to afford these cheap contracts.
James is older than every player in the 2012 senior class because he served in the Air Force from 2002-08, including three tours of duty in the Middle East. He never played high school basketball, so he’s still a work in progress. But the numbers he produced at Florida State indicate he’s capable of incorporating coaching into his game and able to make rapid improvements. He’s projected in the second round- to undrafted range but will be impressive in workouts and interviews. http://www.nba.com/draft/2012/prospects/bernard-james/
Tony Wroten says he has a workout scheduled with the Rockets. http://www.csnnw.com/pages/video?PID=HqMtBEurEDsAyx0Vyf6eq4OcqibE2mQo
Probably a good idea to use some of your 18 allotted meetings on guys that are unlikely to work out for your team. The teams who are actually going to work the top 5 guys out aren't going to waste a precious interview on a guy they will already have at their facilities for a day or more; for teams like the Rockets who just do due dilligence on every player, this might be their only change to update their scouting report. We should be thrilled that the Rockets put more leg work in than most teams; it's the only way to test whether their scouting department is giving them accurate projections, and it's just more and more data that can be used to improve their statistical models.
I'm curious how many other top-5/top-10 picks the Rockets are interviewing. It could give an indication on how likely it is for them to move up.
Rockets have worked out Jesse Sanders. Dude looks like Parsons. Will Barton said he also has worked out for the Rockets. Royce White said he will work out for the Rockets.
Good to see we have interest. We'd have to clear out power forwards and make a serious move up in the draft to get him, but...
John Henson also said he will work out for the Rockets. Austin Rivers said his agent has told him Houston would be one of the teams that would be best for him. Not sure if that means he will met with them or not.
Mike Scott said he's talked to and worked out for the Rockets. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...bits-nba-draft-camp--20120609,0,7855024.story http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--c...ing-son-austin-through-nba-draft-process.html (FWIW Rivers apparently already has a promise in the late lottery according to a source from the same article)
