Not a deal involving the Dynamo, but still makes you wonder if we looked at re-acquiring DeRo. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/red-bulls-acquire-de-rosario-toronto-fc
^Pathetic but at least we ruined DeRo's debut for them. Great game, didn't get the win but we hung in there and forced a draw. Hope we can finally get our first win Wednesday!
Ortiz mentioned in his last blog post that the Dynamo were working on 3 deals that would have supposedly made them the best squad in team history. Today Ortiz revealed that DeRo was one of the three moves. Any guesses as to who the mystery player is? Sounds to me that he will be the DP signing this summer.
That's not an MLS game, it's a US Open Cup game. <object data="data:application/x-silverlight-2," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="480" height="324"><param name="source" value="http://houtv.neulion.com/mlsvp/scripts/mls.xap"/><param name="initParams" value="catid=1875,id=13337,shareembed=true,server=http://houtv.neulion.com/mlsvp/,pageurl=http://houtv.neulion.com/mlsvp/console.jsp?id=13337&catid=1875"/><param name="background" value="Transparent" /><param name="minRuntimeVersion" value="3.0.40624.0" /><param name="autoUpgrade" value="true" /><param name="Windowless" value="true" /><param name="enableHtmlAccess" value="true"/><a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=149156&v=3.0.40624.0"><img src="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108181" alt="Get Microsoft Silverlight" border="0"/></a></object> Tally Hall is pretty good.
Tally Hall has been amazing so far, both those draws are loses if not for him and you can hear the crowd chanting when Ching went down, what a bunch of scumbags
Finally got to watch the Dynamo vs NY. For as bad as I've read them to be, with Ching on the pitch, they looked half decent. He shoulda put one away on the volley. Weaver's goal was very nice, and Tally Hall has been fantastic.
That sucks. You can tell that when Ching is on the field we're a much better team. At this rate he may not make it a complete game all season.
This is why they should have actively been looking for his replacement. The injuries are getting more and more commonplace and the production is on the slide. Doesn't help that he needs to be set up rather than being one that can create...and there's still no one to set him up. Wish we could have gotten DeRo back...
People do sell tickets, but face is pretty cheap, too. It depends on what game you're going to, too. This weekend against Vancouver should be pretty cheap, but more marquee matches against New York or Los Angeles will be much higher.
I don't think you can lump this injury in with something like a nagging hamstring that indicates age is playing a factor. He was jacked pretty hard by the keeper on that cross into the box. Now maybe if he was younger, he would have been able to come back from it a little sooner, but that's just conjecture at this point.
I agree, but the guy can barely get through 90 minutes without something happening to him. Chalk it up to bad luck if you'd like. I'm just saying I wish that the front office had prepared better for this knowing he's got this kind of luck...constantly. He's turning into Shaq. Out for 3 weeks with fluke injury...get another fluke injury in first game back. Rinse and Repeat.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/soc/7508337.html Apparently he's training and trying to see how he feels to play this weekend. The guy is definitely a warrior. They haven't even been able to find a quality partner for him, if they could do that we'd at least have one good forward when Ching is injured.
And that's where I have an issue with the FO since Oliver Luck left. Where has that forward thinking gone (no pun intended)? Other than attempting to trade for DeRo recently, was there any attempts at finding a real center mid? Just feels like they think they can keep up getting fringe players off other teams bench and it just keeps failing.
Boston has their Bambino, Chicago has their Goat, and it seems like Houston has its Curse of Mediocrity. It seems like ALL of our sports teams have entered this era of All Sides and No Meat at the same time. The Texans obviously are the most star-studded of our major franchises, but outside of Andre Johnson, they really don't have that superlative superstar either.
