Interesting. What really scares me is when you look at their Senate map, it shows 58/42 Dems. That is too much power in the hands of one party.

Everyone should remember that Obama is on a mini-honeymoon right now. The euphoria will subside.

I don't buy that. I know it is a bad example, but Cornyn gained like 10 points in a week with the start of his campaign. Generally, Republican Senate candidates in close races are much, much better candidates than their Dem opponents. Right now, Dem candidates are riding the wave of the Obama Nation. In october and november, when voters start paying attention to individual candidates, this is going to close up significantly. I'm predicting a bloodbath in the House, but Dems won't gain more than one or two in the Senate.

Lieberman better hope this is true. Because if it's anymore, he can kiss his "Democratic Leaning caucus" ass goodbye. The Dem party will drop him like a bad habit.

They're getting four, three at the least. Warner, Udall,Udall, and Shaheen... They could lose in Louisiana. It's probably as likely as Franken (Ciresi) winning Minnesota.

so much for the Women, Catholics, blue-collar workers, Hispanics and Independents "problem."

    via TPM --

Poll: Obama Leads McCain, Dominates In Key Demographics

Barack Obama leads John McCain 47%-41% in the latest NBC/Wall St. Journal poll , just outside the the ±3.1% margin of error and consistent with other polls giving Obama a post-primary bump.

More importantly, Obama is ahead with key demographics where his electability had previously been questioned. Obama leads among women 52%-33%, with Catholics 47%-40%, among independents 41%-36%, and even 47%-42% with blue-collar workers.

And contrary to the idea that his poor primary performances among Hispanics reflected an electability problem, he now leads 62%-28% with that group -- well ahead of John Kerry's 53%-44% advantage in 2004.

John McCain's big advantage is with white men, where he leads 55%-35% -- the only reason the race is as close as it is, according to the pollster's analysis.

    ----------

Lot's of great news in this poll!

This is where the election will be won (or lost). Obama will have a hard time getting higher leads in the other categories, especially among women and Hispanics. White men are the big battleground. Obama needs to cut into that 20 point margin while McCain needs to grind Obama into the dust while not offending the other groups.

Oddly, McCain's campaign people listed AZ as a swing state in their most recent electoral map projections.

Well I no longer fear this Michigan conundrum. I will eat my hat if MI goes red this year.

    Sorry Jorge,

What were saying about FL being in the bag? --

Quinnipiac: Obama Ahead In Florida, Ohio And Pennsylvania

New polling from Quinnipiac has some very bad news for John McCain, with him trailing in all three of the largest swing states -- even Florida:

    Florida
    Obama (D) 47%, McCain (R) 43%
    Margin of error: ±2.6%

    Ohio
    Obama (D) 48%, McCain (R) 42%
    Margin of error: ±2.6%

    Pennsylvania
    Obama (D) 52%, McCain (R) 40%
    Margin of error: ±2.5%

    Oops!

Take 2, this time with way more righteous indignation:

Barack Obama's campaign volunteers refuse to let Muslim supporters exercise their religious freedoms at a rally. This from the candidate that claims to be the uniter. The candidate who has portrayed himself as above divisions based on race and religion. But if you don't look like a good Christian, he won't be seen on camera with you. The halo is getting tarnished, brah. No cred.
