I know Reagan beat Mondale 525-13. Mondale won Minnesota (his home state) and DC. Reagan won everything else and torched him by nearly 20% (17 million) in the popular vote.

FDR beat Alf Landon 523-8 and 60.8-36.5 in the popular vote in 1936. Landon only won Vermont and Maine.

FDR got more electoral college voters, but LBJ achieved the highest percentage of the popular vote, 61.1% (to Goldwater's 38.5%), in 1964.

FDR's margin, in percentage points, was still larger.

The last candidate to be down this much, this late in the election, was Bob Dole in 1996. We know how that turned out.

    Obama: 375
    McCain: 157
    Ties: 6
